I read where some growers put their autos in total darkness for a few days before chopping. Is this true or false?

True, some growers give their plants a lights off period prior to harvest.
I am not one of those, I have seen no added value when I've tried it. And, it doesn't make a lot of sense, when you need the plant to really be doing her thing, you take away the photosynthesis.

I cut in the morning at first light, indoor or out.

I always turn the lights off for a day or two prior to chopping. Not sure if the science backs up the case but at least it saves on electricity for a few days

I keep the plants in total darkness and no watering for 48 hours. Then chop, but I am a photoperiod grower. I am new to autos, maybe they are different somehow?

Deprive the plant of light AND water.......it will increase the potency.

Like anything u read on the internet, always different opinions. You won't know until you try it yourself.

Tom, the plant puts out resin to protect itself. Its why plants are harvested in the fall if photos. Light cycle lessens, temps drop. Photo growers induce a fake autumn......

Not sure I explained it well, but I tried.

Plant tries to survive the best way it can. It knows death ain't far away.

Thank you everyone for your feedback.
