Sorry for the crosspost from the Indoor forum...I didn't realize there was a Forum just for Sweet Seeds. But, I'm excited about this grow and want to spread the joy! If the other thread needs to be deleted then I understand

My first ten plants all came from Auto Seeds and this is my first Sweet Seeds grow. I stumbled upon pictures of the "Red Family" and couldn't resist the Dark Devil. Anyways... the rest is pretty much a copy and paste from the Indoor Grow forum.

Well, I wasn't sure if I was going to do a journal for this plant or not. This is my eleventh plant and I've been honing my techniques from one grow to the next. Well, I recently purchased a few new nutrients that I am implementing for the first time into this grow. I usually don't like to introduce multiple new things at once but I had high hopes that things would still go well and they have. So, I took a few lousy pics to share with you guys. I'll take some better ones later when the lights are off.

Here's a quick rundown of my setup:

Space: 3' x 3' x 79"(I think) Tent
Soil: FF Ocean Forest
Bulb: Genesis 400W HPS (50%-100%)
Container: 5 Gallon Smart Pot (Fabric-Type)
Water: Recycled from dehumidifier

Seed: Sweet Seeds Dark Devil

Anyways... It's Day 32 for ol' Nadine and she looks beautiful. This baby's been growing like two inches a day since its teens... I'm actually getting concerned that it may get too tall. This is to most Sativa-ish plant I've had so far in terms of how much less full and bushy it is (I've been growing Auto Candy Kush's if that's any indication). But, the light penetration is great and it looks like the buds are going to be monsters. As I said I'll try and get some "light off" pics that will adequately do this girl justice because she is becoming a real beauty. Keep in mind, Day 32 and this is how big she is...

I have the rest of my feeding schedule all made up and so far she is loving every drop of what I'm giving her (no burning, slumping, discoloration, etc). It's been my experience that hair length of the forming buds is a good indication of how large they could get, and if this holds true I should end up with a pretty decent yield. Now I'm just curious to see if this girl will actually change colors. Wish me luck guys! Stay tuned for updates!

PS - I have my Feed Schedule saved as an Excel spreadsheet...if anyone's interested in what I'm using in terms of nutes and supplements just ask. It's fairly extensive and it's kinda late so I'm not gonna get into it now.

Blood, Sweat, Tears.

Good luck! I finished up a two plant run and one turned very purple and the other stayed mainly green - until they cured. Then the purple is all sorts of pretty and the green pheno shows a high percentage of purple as well. Have fun growing her but you will have even more fun smoking her. I'm smoking mine right now!

This girl has stayed very green. She has already dropped her fan leaves. I believe there were eight in total from top to bottom haha. Never seen anything quite like her. Smells heavily of floral incense. The cola is beefing up as are the other tops. I've already tied the whole thing off because it was inevitable and everything was starting to lean here and there. I'll take some more pictures this weekend

Day 57

I've been planning a move to LED. I was going to finish out this grow as my last 400w HPS grow (I already bought the LEDs) but I found someone who wants to buy my HPS setup now so the switch to LED happened today. It's not the easiest stuff to sell used in the states so I had to jump on the opportunity. Super lucky in a way, the ONE other guy I know that grows got robbed (someone cleaned out a 2 light 600w HPS setup from his place while he was at work) so he's taking the old stuff off my hands. I really don't know how it will affect the grow but I guess we'll find out. I already bought and have been using some GH CaliMagic to counteract the increase in calcium and magnesium from the LED.

I'll give a quick rundown on the light...

Area 51 XGS-190
XGS-190_img.jpg

LEDs: 72x Cree 5w XTE Warm White 3750k
Actual Draw: 100w / 195w

I'm psyched about this light. I'd say ol' Nadine's got about four weeks to go. I am worried about bud weight. I've already tied off pretty much everything and its just so damn lanky. I've got an oscillating fan going 24/7 and I've been giving her plenty of Rhino Skin but it can only help so much.

Oh... and one cool upside to the LED is I can take pictures while it's on that don't look like crap.

Well here she is on Day 57.

PS - I had to get pics of that baby bud growing out of the trunk. It's cute

Even though I know it's natural part of the process, the burnt leaves still make me nuts. Good to see it's not just me because sometimes it feels that way. Your plants are a little bushier, but look exactly like my chemdogs :)

What causes the natural leaf burn like that? I've never had it and I'm paranoid now! :)

Only just come across your thread. She's looking great man. That light looks awesome, how you finding it?

Its funny you mention that because it drives me nuts too. This plant started earlier than anyone I've ever had. She started dropping her lowest fans around Day 50. I had a Candy Kush that stayed totally green until like Day 75. That plant didn't finish until like Day 110.

It's my impression that when the leaves start to go like that the plant is using up its resources as it puts everything it can into its buds. Seems like from that point you've got about five weeks until harvest. I wait for as long as possible to cut though.

I forgot to mention that the buds new growth are definitely showing purple tones.

Hi mate,
thanks for sharing your diary here in the Sweet Seeds subforum.
Very good harvest with the Leds ;)
Hope you enjoy it and keep us updated!
Thanks for posting.
Sweet smokes!!
