You gotta remember, Jeremy's not running in rain science bags and I don't think I've seen him running any rain science bags since he started to 10x10 series. These bags use a lot of water.........period.That’s pretty much how I’m doing it as well. Hopefully they work themselves out at this point. Thanks Dab
If you SLOWLY top water a large percentage(50-60) of your water to all your ladies, give them a 20-30 soak For the water to migrate down. Then give 500ml each to the in the tray and observe how quickly they take it up.. If it's gone in 5 minutes, do it again. I also pick up the pots after the first tray watering to gauge how much it weighs. You can halve that amount if you want, just be observant on how quickly it takes it up.
I use 15 minutes as my "full measure". If it hasn't taken it up in 15 minutes, it's full. Now I haven't had water in the tray in about three Grows. That is from knowing how the pot takes up the water and how much it will hold. That takes time. But now you know what a full pot feels like.
I hope it doesn't feel like I'm harping on you about this subject. Watering is an art and a developed skill. You absolutely have to do it consistently . Container growing needs that moisture cycle of wet and dry down For the roots to be healthy and for the container to be biologically active as much as possible. I make sure I have dry downs running Earthboxes. I use exactly the same technique of muscle memory to determine when I'm adding water to the reservoir.
I can't stress the developing the skill enough.
I'm gonna stop harping on you about it. Feel free to ask any questions, but I I'm not gonna bug you anymore about it, man.
