New Grower Danielsaaan’s 5th Grow - Strawberry Nuggets

Would you mind linking the heat mat you use? Are they safe to run for extended periods of time? Appreciate you!

This is the one is use and it runs for extended periods during seedling and veg and I have a heater similar to one of these just out side the tents running on a inkbird controller.. I like the seed mat during germination and veg to keep the root zone warm plus it helps with the temps in the tent too

BN-LINK Durable Seedling Heat Mat Heating Pad 48" x 20.75" with Digital Thermostat Controller Combo Set Waterproof for Indoor Seed Starting and Plant Germination https://a.co/d/cjTn3sC
Here is the newest purchased.

Any of the heat mats with temp control will work fine mine is 20-48 inches and does the whole cabinet
The manufacturer states not to put beneath insulation, which could overheat. I do insulation, mat, thin liner, plants.
Found the mats without a controller can get to hot and cook plants.

In my cart. Will likely pull the trigger. Thanks again!

Heat mats are great for the first week or two of growth, but at your stage (Day 22) I'd go two ways, an oil-filled space heater, or raising the light and turning up the wattage. Also for autos, some people run their lights 24/0 in the winter to maintain temps, you just have to lower the PPFD since the DLI is higher at 24/0.

I think they look great though at this stage. Keep it up!

Trying to think of how this could work in my space before I purchase. Could I ditch the plastic trays and put the metal stands directly on top of the heated mat?

No idea. I grow in bags directly on the mat. Just trying to think of ways to bring soil temps into ideal range, with greatest ease.

Day 23: Have a couple of plants with leaves curling up. Never had this before. Temp: 67, RH 50%, light probably 3 feet from canopy - 50% intensity. 30 DLI at center of canopy.

Neat and tidy!! Definitely see the leaf curl and thinning. Time for sick bay. Maybe namvet will weigh in.
