So 4 of my 6 containers are SIPs (2 earthbox jrs, 2 gro buckets) and I think I may have damping off in the SIPs.

It doesn't look exactly like images I'm finding online, it appears the skin around the base is breaking and causing weakness.

I've had some issues with humidity and twice last week had extreme spikes 85-90% of an hour or so.

But I'm not seeing the issue in the two fabric pots.

I suspect that I put water in the reservoir too early and over satured the soil.

If so, any point in keeping them? If really is damping off it doesn't seem like it is fixable.

And those black things in the image are binder clips I'm using to keep it upright/supported.

Damping off usually affects seedlings. Going by the size of your stem it looks a bit larger. Damping off is pretty much irreparable. Your medium looks very saturated in the picture. I'm sure that could still cause some issues, maybe stem rot?

I would try to let you medium dry out for awhile, a solid week. Don't water again until the medium is drying out. Solid air flow, keep the soil exposed and keep temps up will help dry it out.,

I would let it ride and see how it shakes out.

When watering, Avoid getting the medium soaked around the base of the stem if possible. Keep the water a few inches away from the stem base when you start watering again.

Maybe someone else will recognize this.
Good luck!

Thanks, I thought it was odd too that they were mostly past seedling stage and just started to get weak stems. That's why I mentioned the humidity.

I stopped putting water in the reservoirs and they're almost dry. I was going to do basically that, dry it out a bit and see what happens. Also keeping my tent at 50% rh for the time being.

I'm only 15 days in, so I can pop some new ones and not be terribly off track if it comes to that.

How is your sip setup? Do you have a drain hole on the side that limits how much water it will hold and drain out of if filled with too much water?

Fabric pots drain quite well. We need to figure why they are so saturated with water. If the sip containers are set up right, it should prevent overwatering. You also want to pretty much wait until it uses all the water in the container before you refill it.

Yes, 2 earthboxes and 2 gro buckets (5 gallon) both have drain holes. And that's the thing, I wasn't filling the reservoirs, just giving it a little water, maybe 1/3-1/2 it's capacity.

Now I did have all the containers in the tent for 3 days before I directed planted, and I did put some water in the sips then. But just enough to test wicking action and provide some moisture for worms/gro kashki.

Stems on two of them might be firming up, I can't tell just yet. I fear a little too much fan and they'll flop back over. I wonder if stupid high humidity + plenty of water in sips already is my issue. And if so, is that going to be able to heal, or will it snap once it gets any real weight?

First time with both indoor and sips, always be learning something.

Ugh, confirmed damping off complete with shriveling root base in both earth boxes. Jury still out on gro bucket sips, but I suspect at least one may go down.

I guess I have to trash the soil and start over too?

It was damping off, lost both earthboxes. The gro buckets faired better, I'm guessing because they're taller and the soil didn't get quite as saturated.
