Hey All!! So I have been doing tons of research on the best color ratio/mix for led grow lights. Here's my plan and I would highly appreciate it if some of you guys that know about leds would chime in and make any suggestions or comments relevant to the topic.

The custom panel I have in mind consists of 12 modules, each housing 15, 3 watt leds. Considering cannabis absorption points I have come up with the following formula.

9 of the 12 modules will consist of:
5 pieces-640nm
5 pieces-660nm
1 piece-440nm
1 piece-470nm
1 piece-Ultra Violet
1 piece-Infra Red
1 piece-Cool White(6500k)

The 3 remaining modules I will replace the 6500k with a 660nm

That gives me a total of 135 Red, 36 Blue, and 9 White:

75%Red, 20%Blue, and 5%White

To all you educated and experienced led growers, am I missing anything in this setup? Again any advice or input will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!! P.S. I cannot decide whether to go with 90 degree lenses or 60 degree lenses any pointers on that would be great!!

Keep it GREEN:toke:

my setup is:

10 x 660nm - 3w (each led)
16 x 640nm - 1w (each led)
04 x 590nm - 3w (each led)
06 x 470nm - 3w (each led)
01 x 445nm - 10w (single)
1.5 meters of warm white (3000K) led strip on the walls. (around 6W total)

My grow is like a computer case, just a little wider and bigger... I bought a server case to do the grow.

I had a Easyryder grow later last year and it was awesome!

That looks like a good choice of spectrum and is similar to the one blackstar uses, also I'd say go with the 60 degree lenses for a little bit more intencity.what led panel are you getting mate?

I got a guy in China who's gonna go straight to the factory and pick them up for me. The company is Evergrow Systems and Im planning on getting their new 2012 Nova Series panels. Like 240 bucks for a 540 watt panel. Its to my understanding that they supplied Advanced with their newer panels. These new Nova Series arent going to be sold to a single distributor here in America because last time they really hurt their business doing so. After tons and tons of research, I found that these lights fit my every need. It comes down to that secret "recipe" that these American companies hold on to for dear life, and jack up the prices accordingly. I feel I have something pretty close to that "recipe" so theres no need for the middle man and their insane prices any more. Another appealing aspect of these lights is that they are made with quality components. Cree, Epistar, and Bridgelux l.e.d s heavy duty heatsinks. The whole nine. Winner in my book. After all, most of the major players in the led business right now get their panels from China, ASSEMBLED in the U.S.

Iv tried to email that company about the nova series LEDs but I never got a reply,I'd be interested to talk to them as I like the look of the nova panels

You know I tried to email them too asking about specific colors. Never got a response from them. Maybe its because we're writing in English? I have no idea but luckily I got someone out there who can ask all the questions. I wouldn't mind slapping my own brand name own those babies and selling them for half the price as the competitors. hmmm. LOL... @Red eyed c if you have any specific questions let me know Il try to help out as much as possible. Other than that I guess next step is to get these bad boys in action and see some results!! Try using a translator on google to change your words from English to Chinese and send that in an email, might get a faster response since they will be able to read it lol worth a shot.

Cheers mate..if your man in china can get a contact email that would be a big help.i look forward to seeing if you can get a panel off them with your desired spectrum and how it performs,if it goes well it will inspire others to cut out the middle man and get a shit hot panel at a good price.at the moment I've only spoken to one company in china called Cidly..the emails started out prommising but I've asked a few Qs regarding the drivers and components and the replies have dried up

Well I've just spent the last hour having a live chat with a guy called eldun from evergrow about there nova series :-) all the spectrum I asked about could be done, epistar & bridgelux LEDs.120 primary & 60 degree secondary lenses available. For the 6 spot with custom spectrum I got a quote of $261 delivered to uk.very nice price even with added vat & customs tax.im not ordering anything yet but it was a very positive chat and out of all the manufacturers iv spoken with in china these have been by far the best.id really like to get a panel and do some test grows for everyone to see
