So I've gotten really interested in water curing lately and I am currently in the process of curing a half. The point where it gets tricky is, due to limited experience by other growers, no one seems to have found a way to preserve aroma, flavor, or appearance. Some suggested methods have been wrapping the buds in foil or giving them an 8-10 hour rinse, either way the cure our reduced to 8 hours up to 7 days versus months, but there is a massive lack of anecdotal evidence to support these methods. Growers have even reported the water cured buds to either be the most potent and smoothest smoke or the worst tasting they have ever had.
I don't really know of good a starting point for really realizing the full(?) potential of water cure by minimizing the cure time and maintaining flavor and smell. The reports of increased or reduced potency aren't enough to go on without, in my opinion, a test of air dried versus water cured flower from two identical clones from a lab. Again, based on inconclusive anecdotal research growers have even suggested cycling aerated water in while not agitating the trichomes.
Idk what to do lol
