Indoor Cooltube reflector choice

I want to try out a CoolTube in a 1.2m x 1.2m tent using 400W HPS - DWC.

I have the choice of "inside" or "outside" reflector types and would like to know if anyone here has tried these reflectors in a tent situation and might share some insight on which would be better, and why.

They both have very poor light spread

1 400w hps is to small for a 1.2m tent
2 a cool tube does not have a good enough light spread for a 1.2m tent either but the MK2 cool tube with the large wing you might get away with it

Or you could pull the reflector off, hang it vertical right in the middle of the plants and get far more coverage.
