I have 5 plants, watermelon auto. They have always been a bit out of sync with regards how quickly they are growing. One plant in particular has always seemed to be a few weeks ahead of the rest.

I feel I could begin a progressive harvest, especially on this one. It would expose some of the lower less mature popcorn buds also.

What you guys think?

I've done progressive on lots of my plants, and it works fine. Just remember (unlike me) to keep your chops separate and labelled in case of noticeable difference in product. You can always throw everything together once all the stages have been tested.

Sometimes even with a progressive harvest, some of the cuts will be at different levels of ambering, so it might be nice to test before lumping all the bud together. Whether this is useful to you depends on what you want in product. I was looking for sleep aid, so different levels of amber might have been significant. OTOH, I still have not figured out whether there is a useful difference between cuts, but I am glad I still have the option,

Good luck with it. :goodluck:

Update: I decided to go for it and I did a progressive harvest on the one plant that's a little ahead of the others. I chopped off about 40% of the plant and ended up with about 33g of bud, which will be more like 10-12g by the time it dries.

So I might get an oz from the plant by the time I harvest it all.

Not so bad for a first grow I guess :D

Definitely learned a lot.

Pics attached, left them to dry on a rack.
