I have a spider farmer sf-4000 and a sf-2000, I really like them. However my new hobby is starting to get more expensive and I want to set up more tents. I've seen some QB's from BloomPlus and Maxisun on Amazon that appear to be similar (but some cheaper components) and I was wondering if anyone has first hand expierience with real cheap quantum boards and if there are any recommendations. I do realize Spider Farmer is considered "budget" led but I got to slow down this cash flow!!

Search for spider farmer on alibaba. I've ordered one and it was cheaper and obviously not spider farmer but only difference i noticed was thicket aluminum heat sink.

Doesn't whoever makes them just mass produce and then companies like SF and KB just order enough to get their own private labels on it?

If you are going the Chinese route, deff go alibaba imo. I don't really support that in general, but people are gonna do what they are gonna do.

Yes pretty much I think. I remember them saying if you order so much they will do private label.

I don’t know is this is accurate but I just kind of thought no matter where you buy your leds from they are still usually assembled with Chinese made parts.

Yes, a fair amount are. Some are South Korea or mixed... I bought a gavita and the box said made in Mexico but the accessories were all China.

It's always cheaper to DIY. the cheapest DIY options you have are going with Bridgelux strips. What size spaces are you wanting to light? What size is your budget?

There is also kingbrite and the alibaba brands.
