Coir OK with DTE and AN ?

So that says to me that FF is doing the same thing as my idea(Mr.Canuck’s actually) in keeping w/the ‘broken-down dry-amendments plus coco and perlite’ thing, then huh??
Now that I’ve heard you guys talk I can see perfectly how I was misled.......AND almost the same that it WILL work(?).
if one can dry amend with those exact items in nature that can give our beloved plant ‘exactly the forms of exactly the things it needs’ (so check the labels on all) like worm castings/bat guano, seaweed extract, seabird guano, bone meal, langbeinite, dolomite, azomite,,sulfate of potash, kelp meal, and something (PLEASE SOME SUGGESTION!!) for those micros. (??)
But then that would just be super soil wouldn’t it? I’m not giving up!
Every time one of those videos comes on YouTube and one of those mealymouth cannabis-dude starts talking about ‘the right way’ to operate, I get sick to my stomach.

OK well what if I put together a lighter-than-heavier well-drained ‘soil’ like this:
use Coco simply to amend another soil such as Baccto(local) or Kellogg’s(Lowe’s)or Fox Farm(my gosh, yes) with also 10% black cow or other compost(for microbiological content) —-then add in the DownToEarth.——-
And 20% added perlite ........?
And then WHAT would I add ( like boosters) at those “opportune” times when specific amounts of ‘x’,’y’,’z’ are needed?
I have seen recommendations for using coco to modify soil to make it a bit better drained, as I recall one of the major seed merchant online recommends it as a standard approach. It probably works, but I've never used it that way. Perlite also does something similar, and most growers that use coco add perlite to increase drainage, my autopot mix is ~40% perlite.

I can't help you with putting hybrid soil mixes together as I do not grow in soil, I grow in coco, and know nothing about the products you list. However, I still think you are better off either sticking with a full organic soil grow if that is your real interest, or go soil less either with coco, or with ProMix HP myco or equivalent peat based mix which is a bit more forgiving than coco. Pick an approach, look for grow journals here that use the approach you would like to try, and carefully follow the lead of someone who is consistently successful. Don't try to mix and match portions of what others do, at least not until you have lots of consistently successful grows behind you. Each different approach that works does so because it achieves a balance among a lot of different factors, and you screw with a successful approach at your risk.

If you don't have the time or inclination to do the full super soil approach, I think you would likely be better off going soil less , but different strokes my friend, whatever cures your bud.

Good luck with your grow. :goodluck: :pighug:

Thank you so much for your input. I totally agree with you. I’m one of those stubborn people however that seems to think that I’m different. I guess I’m special? I’m being sarcastic but I really get upset with myself sometimes.
So I have studied a bunch this past year and a half and I have tried the super soil thing and I find that I Want To Water,or at least Desire to water, (or for that matter fertigate!) more often than SOIL needs. Also, I am too ADD /( don’t really know what happens sometimes) and don’t want to/have not/cannot mix hydroponic nutrients every single freaking day.
This blend of ideas was thought out after all those failures. Or at least semi-failures.
Life is a series of adjustments . I pulled a pound and a quarter from my friend’s Hawaiian bag seed, indoors. It had only vegged outdoors for two weeks.
Here are some pictures of the mix I speak of,(and currently testing!!! of course) and the strain is ‘afghan massXXL’ and Alaskan purple’ along with Bubba Kush and Blueberry.
They are all in coco, and Kellogg’s from Lowe’s,and black cow from Lowe’s and Dr. earths gold blend. The Coco was bought from Home Depot and so was the Dr.Earth. I have used GH flora micro at 1/2 teaspoon per gallon—-only one time!- on them because there was interveinal(sp?) chlorosis.
I have attached pictures with my notes from just almost a month ago with the dates that everything germinated. I think it says the Alaskan purple (photo-period) pop the seeds on January 12, Four days after the Afghan mass autos were popped and placed in my mix. I think I used Jobes for for for for the Afghan mass and Dr. earth to to to for the Alaskan purple. Those are also the two that I have a photograph from underneath it so you can see the spacing...... I think it is February 12 right now.
I think they’re doing pretty well. Huge props to electric sky ES 300 V2! I’d buy 10 of them if I had the money.

These are ChemOG and purple bag seed that grew and got their start under the ES 300 v2 finishing under HPS, of course.

Nice plants @AutoNM3, very nice results. I'd say keep on keeping on, you obviously are headed in the right direction. Just keep an eye on them to catch any developing deficiencies early and you should be golden. As others here have pointed out, they are actually pretty hard to kill. Even with a certain amount of undeserved torture, they often produce some nice bud.

Anyway, have fun with your grow, and enjoy the bud in those last photos! :goodluck:

Thanks man, yeah I’m just amazed that they’re doing somewhat like they should do now. It’s a lot just about the environment that I found out. But people don’t think, let me get my environment right, they just think ‘let me grow something’

Environment is right. VPD charts are your friend! I have one taped to my growdrobe door .:pighug:
