Grow Mediums Coco & Bio Bizz Light Mix

So for some reason I decided to put about 80 percent coco into a 11 litre pot with 20 percent soil chucked on top. No serious problems right now but got a feeling there might be... How much should I water? Should I still have run off etc? I believe I should also pH all the feeds like I would if I was growing in a pure soil medium... & what's the crack with nutes will they need nutes just as much as a 100 percent coco medium? Or should I base feeds of what people would feed a grow that's in a 100 percent soil medium?

Sorry for all the questions I can just see a storm coming.

soil likes a wet,dry cycle...coco likes it moist,and if it dries out ph up down left right.soil likes ph 6-6.5,coco likes 5.5-6.some coco brands need washed/pre buffered.soil lash in a pot.coco also needs a load of calmag,soil not so.can get awy without feeding a soil plant for a few weeks.coco needs feeding evertime something like minimum of 300ppm.
my thinking treat it as 100% coco ish but i is a simple soil grower.but as allways get a 4th opinion

i didnt want to sound so negative in my reply but in my defence im a tea drinking eejit,that calls it as he sees it i could dress it up a bit but as i say wait on 4th opinion
but at the same time its only 20%....i add more % of perlight to my soil.so it may not make much difference

I looked into Biobizz light mix and realised its actually a peat medium so I'm guessing that would work a lot better with coco seeing as it is similar in quite a few ways.

ive only ever used biobizz soil and biobizz nutes.i only know enough about other mediums and forms of growing,to be dangerous.....so defo 4th opinion.
blues coco tips.....some brands of coco need rinsed some dont.

Hi! I'm no real expert, but with 65% lightmix, i'd be more inclined to treat this as a soil grow.
Depending on the nutes you use will determine whether you need to PH.

If you're going chemical nutes, then you may as well PH to 6.2 and see how it goes, this reaches the higher end of the coco nute uptake(/availablity) range, and the middle area of soil nute uptake(/availablity) range.

If you going organic (biobizz only, or biotabs .. or basically any organic nute system thats going to encourage a microherd in the soil), then I'd be more cautious about PHing unless your water is horrible (like 7.5+), and if this is the case, look to find an organic PH down, or use lemon juice (citric acid, but NOT nitric or phospohoric acid .. as these will kill the microherd that you're looking to cultivate)

Hope this helps put the mind at rest a bit - It's all just my opinion based on experience, but somebody may be able to bring some actual science to the table ... if not, then the above advice should get you to harvest! ^_^

Thanks for the advice mate I'll do everything you just said and see how it goes! Hopefully I get decent results
