You basically want twice the size u want to put in them.
In all fairness, I never tried heat sealing the bags cause it didnt fit the way things happen here, thats probably the best way to use them.

Been using grove bags for a while and it’s been dependent on the strain. My denser nugs could fit a good oz and a half in an oz grove bag. Less dense stuff I could fit a half oz in. I usually try to fill it about 3/4 full to leave some head space. But I just buy a bunch of oz and 1/2 oz bags and use when needed. Love the space saving. Also love skipping burping.

My complaint with grove bags is the raping they give you for shipping, nothing pisses me off more then getting boned on shipping fees. I bought 1/4 lb bags and paid more for shipping then for the bags, and I live in the state next door to them.

I agree - that's the only draw-back --THE SHIPPING there has to be other "bags" just as good and with LOW shipping cost. Have seen some other bags but forget were and name of

My bad. I never did update. I found that the amber jars made no difference. Which I have to say, surprised me.

For my STS mix, I cover the jar with aluminum duct tape. Black paint would work, but complete dark would require a couple coats. The tape is quick to apply, permanent, and totally light proof.

However, I only use tape for STS which is extremely light sensitive, not for storing bud. I store bud in jars in the freezer, and find that doing so keeps it well for a long time, at least a year or two. The theory that all the trichs will fall off if frozen is just a theory, just let the storage jar come completely to room temperature before digging in to replace the stash in use, then put it back in the freezer. As long as you move the jar gently while frozen, there is no issue with knocking trichs off. Just my couple cents worth based on what I have tried.
