Indoor Changing light cycle in the middle of flowering?

Hello, does it cause any problems to change life cycle of an auto from 20/4 to 24/0?
The plant is 5 weeks old and has about 4-5 weeks left until harvest.

The first week it had light cycle of 24/0, then changed to 20/4.

Will this cause any problems? And whats the take on 24 vs 20 hours of light?

Just my :2cents: But I would think in adding more light the better...if anything you would run into problems if you cut back on hours of light... But giving it more..im inclined to say you'd be fine. I myself run 24/0 schedule. In saying that... there are a lot of theories as to the best lighting schedule.. Ive read that some believe autos need a down time of 2-4 hours with out light... But ive also heard/ read 24/0 is fine.. i run the 24/0 schedule and have seen no issues thus far. Hope this helps. Cheers and best of luck!

I've always stuck to 18/6. Why do you want to change the light cycle? It won't have much of an affect altering the time from 20/4 to 24/0

It's always good to give plants a rest which is why I have never ran 24/0 but that's just my personal opinion.

I was given 6 plants( white widow hybrid) that were needing a little tlc .. My friend bless her has bitten off more than she can chew. When plants arrived they looked a little wilted, but with a little ecopixie tlc and total change in lighting , they are taking to the change like a breastfeeding baby and loving it and thriving.

Do what feels right for you, cause everyone is different.

love and hugs

good questions for newbs like me! My question is for growing regulars with autos. My next grow is in the planning stages and I have some freebies that I want to grow. Ill be starting 3 autos and adding in two regulars. Is it possible to do a 2 week veg and then go 12/12 so the regs will flower? If Im going to effect my autos growth then I will probably ditch the regulars.

Thanks for any advice

I will post pictures later but basically I planted 20 seeds half 12/12 and another half 20/4 and the latter lot are all twice as big and way stronger this test is on regular photos. I have 3 Autos and I can confirm irregular light stunts them and the most spectacular growth happened when they got some darkness, too much light on one auto made it over vegetate I think and perhaps stunted the height a couple of inches. 24 hours is good if you want to try and send a flowering plant back into vegetation stage 20/4 is also great for those that believe that plants need their sleep both are long ligth cycles good for vegging whilst the shorter 12 hr cycle induces flowering. Those worried about shock might gradually increase or decrease cycles - I have not tried this so cannot comment but would be interested on hearing what others think of gradual light change.

I beleave all plants need some rest to manufacture the energy it has collected during the light hours.Theres only a couple of places on earth that get no or little darkness and nothing grows there. It's your call .

me myself grow 24/7 lights all way through allways have never really had any problems
but people would allways have there ideas about light

I have been at 18/6 from day 5. Started at 20/4 but decided to take it down. I guess my biggest decision is whether to add the regular plants in with non autos and go 12/12 from a short veg cycle on my next grow. Autos are my first love so they will win out. Thanks for the info to all!!
