Just wanted to share my latest grow with this great community.

CH9 Jack 33 fem (photo)
Blackstar 270 Chrome
18L Autopot
Canna Coco A+B, Cannazym, CalMag, Drip Clean

Nothing to eventful to report, just a nice easy grow that has gone smoothly so far. Only exception being the transplant where I ripped off half her roots. After drooping for a few hours it was as if nothing happened. Tough little bitch, this one :)

Just attached a few random pics, nothing too recent will post a few new ones this week. She is well into flowering now and looking pretty good...just hoping she stops stretching soon cause head room is limited.

Any questions or comments please go ahead :)

she is purty! and the little girls too!:drool:is this your first grow with the chrome blackstar? and do you like it?

used the 240 Blackstar a couple of times successfully but couldn't resist trying out the chrome. first grow with it and so far so good. not sure if its really much better than the standard 240 model but we'll see in a few more weeks when the weight starts to pack on. So far i do think the penetration is better, but its a little early to tell if its worth the extra cash. Hope some other people can chime in with opinions

thank you for your response! fb, i have two blackstars, and also thought that the chrome was a better choice. i have had a slightly negative input from a very good grower, who said he didn't care for it, i think it is quite a bit different than the blackstars, witch is what he also was using. it's a learning curve that i expected! with 2x the par of the 240w it will have to be 30 inches away from young plants. and i also think that he switched his plants to the chrome, during there growth, switching from one type of light to another. ithink that if you use the chrome from start to finish, it will be a vast improvement!:2cents: i will ask him if he switched to the chrome midstream of his grow, thats why i think he didn't like it! if you look at the quality of the chrome, it has much better construction than the standard ones. btw i subbed on to your grow to watch and learn, if you dont mind?

Couple more pics from earlier today.
Added some Canna PK @ half strength cause she is about 4 - 4 1/2 weeks from switch. Not sure if its too early but we'll see what happens.

The Chrome is a good light no doubt. I wouldn't use it for veg at all though. A friend of mine tried to use his from start to finish with very average results. I can't totally blame the Chrome for that though :)

So far I can say I'm liking it, very high quality and great penetration. For as I said would be interesting to see someone try it, but I'll stick with my Blackstar Veg light. Only 90W but does 2'x2' no prob at all. I think the Chrome's light is just way too intense for young/vegging plants.

Thanks for following along.

farmer brow, thanks for your feedback! i came to the same conclusion. very powerful light, and i think that, the three way switch is the key, two spots for seedlings, four spots for young plants, six spots for mature plants and flowering, one the plant is big enough, it can handle the higher par level because, it is much more effective in the converting the light to plant material!................btw nice and green in your cab!:smokebuds:

You're probably right about the switching astro, would love to see a diary where someone tries it out.

This is the last grow in this cab just too damn small, the plant is actually a rectangle when I take it out ;) The cab is only 3.5' wide by 1.5' deep and about 5'ish high which isn't great but not too bad. Collecting material for my new flowering cab at the moment, think 4x2 and about 6 high, with the res in a separate area. Might actually be able to get more than 1 plant in there.

i will be here watching!:D dont sell yourself short! if you have room, go for the largest area you can fit! i am letting the cat out of the bag, i have a new tent, the second, and a new chrome six spot so i am doubling my capacity! my two tents measure 78 "x 40"x 40" i am a state legal patient/ grower
and by state law i can have six flowering plants, so why not!!:dance2:you are in the usa ithink?:smokebuds:

There's the problem Astro, I'm in Australia :( so have to be careful. funny thing is I don't even smoke the shit really , think I've had one joint this year. I just give it away to people that need it for making Rick Simpson oil. Prior to 12 months ago I hadn't grown for more than 10 years. People started telling me about Ricks oil and how it can have all kinds of health benefits.knowing a few people with serious conditions I felt like I should at least try and help. thought the LED was the way of the future so I ditched HID and away I grew :)

Hey Farmer, saw your post on Autopots, just seen your grow and i'm hooked. think i may go out and get me a four pot system with air domes, anyway i'm here for the duration of this grow, really impressed so far :peace: Hazy
