OK Kids! It's time to gather round... Spark up your green and check this out. I want to share a recipe with you guys that has helped the Wife and I SO MUCH that we no longer have to take Vicoden, Flexiril, Naproxen, Flector Pain Patches, and Sleep Aids.. Rx and OTC. So basically no pain killers, no muscle relaxers, no anti inflammatories/nsaids, or sleep aids such as ambien or PMs... Tylenol or Generic...

Canna Olive Oil. I will tell you how to make it. What you need. Specifically WHAT you need to make the best most affective oil. And I will ask Brother DubV (who cared enough to show us the way to chemical FREE pain relief) to correct me if I'm wrong or jump in on things I missed.

Materials:

28 Grams of Trim (1 Ounce DRY)
. What you put in is what you get out of it so consider that when choosing WHAT trim you will use... I prefer sweet leaf only meticulously trimmed so only the parts with trichs get in the mix. Also cuts back on the plant taste in the end product. *You can always water cure if you don't want to taste any Canna in the end product.*

FIRST PRESS Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I stress FIRST PRESS because if you use anything else, your Oil will NOT come out the same. It will Burn and taste like sh*t. And First Press is better FOR you. Now, I'm sure you are going "Where the hell can I get First Press Olive Oil..." You'd be surprised... Wal Mart!! Believe it or not... Wal Mart carries very good First Cold Press Olive Oil (straight from Cali!) that IS actually what it says it is... It's called California Olive Ranch...

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Californi...irgin-Olive-Oil-16.9-fl-oz-Pack-of-6/21090171

That link is so you can see the actual bottle... a 750ml bottle runs just under $10... That can get you quite a few runs...

Crock Pot. Any Crock Pot you can set on the lowest setting is good. I bought a $30 at Wal Mart just for this.

Cheesecloth. I got mine at Jo-Ann Fabric craft stores. I got this one...

Strainer. I used a Ball's Canning Strainer and set another strainer inside it. This Oneida Silver Strainer I also purchased at Wal Mart. Works very well.

You don't NEED these but I purchased like 4 of these for different batches...

Directions:
Take 28 grams of sweet leaf and place it in the Crock Pot. Try not to mash it down or smash it up. Just place it in there. Take 1 1/4 cup of Olive Oil and pour it in the crock pot with the trim. Cover the Crock Pot and set it on low for 5-6 hrs. My crock runs a bit hotter so I do it for 5 other wise it will burn and taste burnt. DO NOT STIR THE OIL. Just set it and forget it!

Once it's ready shut the Crock Pot off and let it cool down. I like to remove the Pot from the heater and let it cool down that way. It may take up to an hour to cool down. Once it's cooled down strain the mixture through the cheesecloth, through a strainer, and into whatever you like really... I use a Mason Jar... being careful not to get ANY trim into the final mixture. I also Double up the cheesecloth... with that and the second strainer you'll be good. Once you strained it carefully remove the cheesecloth with the trim/mixture inside of it and squeeze the access over the strainer into your jar. You can also do this any way is best for you. Just be sure to not get any trim in the final product.

Now you can take it once it's cooled down. Potency varies by trim. For example if you use S.A.D. trim you will have some seriously strong oil. For night time most likely! So oil potency depends on the potency of your trim.

For first time usage I would recommend starting at 1/4 teaspoon and go up from there if it's not potent enough. Everyone is different so you will have to play with it to "dial yourself in" so to speak...

I don't think I missed anything but... I will have Dub chime in and anyone else... Noods... who are also oil users... please feel free to correct me or contribute! These kinds of thread to me belong to AFN so all info is appreciated!

Quick Testimonial:

The Wife and I were in a bad car wreck in March of 2010 when a neglegent driver ran a red light doing 50 mph T-Boning us in the intersection on my driver's side...

Me personally it has helped with Nerve Pain (I have two severed nerves in my left thigh), Permanent Muscle Damage (My Left Quadripcep received severe trauma... Which resulted in a 3 month long Hematoma which left my quad permanently damaged). Left Knee Pain/Arthritis from ACL Replacement and being compromised in the wreck. Left Shoulder Bursitis from the seatbelt. Nerve Damage and Permanent Rib Damage in my back shoulder blade area from the Air bag deploying in the seat. Tendonitis in my left bicep and elbow from the impact. Hell I WAS the point of impact so this oil is a LIFE SAVER.

My Wife suffered 2 Herniated discs in her neck in the wreck (C7 & C8). Permanent muscle damage from the seat belt tearing her muscle as she went basically through the first stage of decapitation. Lower back pain from previous back surgery and arthritis resulting from... She also suffers from Usher's Syndrome and Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) which is near deafness from nerve damage at birth and RP comes on later in life as slow vision loss to permanent blindness. She's at the stage right before being totally blind. Total Night Blindness and no peripheral vision at all. Her right eye is nearly blind and since the wreck she has had a gold swiriling light constantly in her right eye. Whether it's closed or not... So you can imagine mentally what she deals with. The Oil calms her anxiety and anger. As she was not born blind... it started at 20 and she's 33 now. Being on Vicoden, and all the other chemical poison will only put her on the fast track to total blindness... as nearly ALL of them f*ck up your eyes/vision after years of use.

So this oil does more than take pain away. It's amazing for depression, anxiety, anger management/issues, and basically centering yourself so you can function during the day and do what you need to do to survive and live a full life. So I IMPLORE YOU if you are like us and have daily pain that needs management... TRY THIS OIL!!! And start a chemical free pain management daily regimen that actually WORKS.

Anyone experimented with washing the "green" out of the oil?

Thank you Brother for the Recipe!! I will be using this before too long.I've seen several videos on making standard cooking canna oil and they say stir it once of twice over the course of time to help extract more THC.Why not stir it?Through trial and error have you found that it works better?I agree only sugar leaf it ideal in my opinion too.And i too had fantastic results when I used oil in the past.(Maybe wasnt strong enough?)But other than not helping my hip and Back everything else was spot on perfect.Thankj you again for the recipe brother.I'll be using it soon'ISH :D needs me a grow.C'mon weather!LOL

Awesome guide!
Would this get someone high?
What if you were to use Bud, do you have to grind it first? If using bud how much do you recommend putting in?

Hey Cres! Never heard of that... do you have a sec to elaborate for us? Thanks my friend!

No problem! DubV passed it on to me so I give him the credit... He gave me the  to post this thread so more people can benefit from it...

Forgot to answer about the stirring... I stirred it the first time and it came out tasting like bong water smells... with burnt trim taste on top of it... *vomit* you need a damn chaser to get that batch down!! and honestly bro, maybe because it was burnt up a bit (my crock pot only goes so low and apparently it's still gets too hot so I tried 5 hrs last batch) it was not as potent as when I DIDN'T stir it... so ya got me on the more THC thing... I just know it makes the oil darker from the plant matter that gets broken up in the oil and I it tastes awful... just awful...

Awesome guide!

Hey RC! Good to see ya Brother! Thanks! I don't know if "high" is the right word. If you mean like a buzzy heady high from smoking a Sativa or Sativa Dom strain then I would say no... But I've never made oil from a Haze or Sati Dom strain... you don't get the same affects ingesting as you do smoking. If you've ever taken a strong muscle relaxer, Nerve Pill like Valium/Xanax, or Vicoden 5/500... it's similar to that... that's why we say start at 1/4 dose and see how that goes. at that rate my pain is gone and I can do stuff. Passed that I'm couch locked... and each time you smoke it kicks in again... If you used bud I would say it would be wicked potent. Well, if the strain you use is wicked potent rather. Remember what you put in is what you get out of it... SO if you use a killer strain you will have killer oil. Middle of the road strain then you'll get mild oil. And as far as grinding the Bud up first and how much I will ask Dub... I've never attempted bud. I don't know if it's the same measurements or not... So standby on that last question my friend!

Thanks Rebel!

I want to make this for my aunt, who is in constant pain, but I don't want her to trip out or get a head high. Strictly for pain relief.

I will try this when I get a chance! Did you have to grind the sugar leafs?

No problem my friend! As long as she takes a smaller dose as she will trip if she takes more... especially if she is not smoker bro... My Mom would like me to make some for my step dad as well so I'll be trying a water cure sometime soon. If you don't want her oil tasting like canna then I would recommend water curing. I would not grind the sugar leaves... just make sure they are dry.

You won't get all the green out.

But you can remove a lot. What you do is put it in the fridge.
If you can squeeze it in, put the whole crock in there.

The reason for that is that I lost quite a bit pouring it from one container to
another. Some oil would stick to the pot, and I was cleaning the pot between
cleanings. One time I didn't wait long enough, and the water still had some oil
in it.

The oil should float to the surface. Nice thing about coconut oil is that it hardens,
and you can just lift it off. You will have to skim most oils. It can take a while for
all the oil to get to the surface.

After that, pour the water down the drain, and replace it with fresh.

You keep doing that until the water doesn't turn green.

Here are some other differences. I used leaf and bud. I gave both a quick grind in
a blender. I also used a hand blender in the crockpot. The guy that said to use a hand
blender said it made a big difference. To be honest, I have no idea if it did or not.
Another nice thing about coconut oil solidfying, is that I was able to put it into ice cube trays,
freeze it, and keep the cubes in the freezer. It's not precision dosing, but it works.

I went to a talk about making extracts, and the lady giving the talk suggested doing two different
extractions on your pot. What she does most is glycerine extracts. I actually bought a quart of that,
but I haven't had the chance to try it yet. Partly that's because I am pretty happy with what I did.
I did an ice hash extraction, and then another extraction using coconut oil.

Thanks buddy
Let me know if you find out the ratio of buds/canna olive oil

Did you use any stems as well?

Also how long did you have to wait for it to kick in?

I know that one can get the green tatse out from a miriad of techniques and diff. strains too.Ruderalis strains as a basic rule always has a green flavor even if its very faint. But many of these reverse crosses from what I understand have a much muuch less green flavor. And myself made some last season that wasnt too bad and Imma super newbie. And it depends too on how much chlorophyl(Cant spell) and how its prepped from what Ive read and the vids Ive seen and the people Ive talked to.Ill have to read up on this a little more since Ive heard people getting it quite pure.hmmmm, some nice food for thought.Sorry was more of a question than a statment ,truly.Ive just heard of people saying they can get all the green taste out of oils when mixed within a recipe.my bad bro.
