Calcium chloride is presumably a very strongly ionized salt. I recall the calcium in CALiMAGic (1-0-0) is all or mostly calcium complexed with carbohydrate (sugar polymer) complexes(?), surely much less disruptive vs. a chloride salt.
Calcium nitrate can be good in base nutrients, providing both bioavailable Ca and N with 1 ingredient. For ex., I recall that MegaCrop uses calcium nitrate.
