I have a friend with some nasty cancer. Had surgery and now on 2nd round chemo to treat some large tumors that were not eradicated with the first round of chemo. And he's taking a lot of opioids for pain. But he loves canna. I made him up 5 grams of various rosin to vape. And some rosin based chocolate bar pieces. When I first visited with the rosin he seemed to love it and obviously was affected by it and probably more so because of the opioids in his system. He did have some legit canna infused coco oil bottles but he said they were useless. He found rosin way more effective.

I went back a week later with the chocolate I was told he was struggling with psychosis and his wife feels its because of combining the canna with the opioids. And I could see it with my own eyes. He was irrational. Irritable. Slightly paranoid.

The deal is he feels he's probably going to die from the cancer and he wants to enjoy his canna while he can. But we're not sure what the best way is to combine opioids and canna. His doctors are kind of useless from what I was told. So hoping for some insight from others. Thanks.

Drug induced psychosis can go from temporary to permanent with repeated use. I would suggest stopping unless the prognosis is not good, in which case fuck it. I have seen drug induced psychosis turn to full blown schizophrenia within 5 years. Some people are susceptible but most are not.

If the psychosis is induced by the thc, why not up his CBD intake. CBD counter acts the affects of THC. CBD also acts as an anti-inflammatory. If your friend has allot of pain my suggestion is to vaporizer whole plant (dry herb) first thing in the morning before taking any opioids. Then adjust his pain meds accordingly to control his pain. One must remember that pain has an emotional side to it. So if you do not feel good you will experience more pain. So one's emotional state controls how you experience pain.
Hope this helps. Good luck. Keep visiting. He probably needs this more than you think or what he may think. Also treat him as normal as possible. He needs to feel normal even if it is just for a short period.
Awe!!

Holy crap mate please don’t take any advice given by people on a bloody canna growing forum!

Get your mate to consult his doctor. Sorry if I sound like a dick, but taking advice from random people is not the way to go here.

@lunarman ...Which is probably how I would feel if I was going through a second round of chemo and I Thought I was going to die.....it is gruelling treatment...for him and the family looking after him.

Morphine is mood altering too..tell me about it...my Mother has been on mega doses and we have had some really strange conversations.
Made her paranoid ..she was getting insomnia and she was having Awake hallucinations.

So..a Lot of what you have mentioned could be attributed to the morphine alone....

His wife will be frightened for him...so tread carefully...:headbang:

Paranoia can be cross related.

I'd suggest you go for an Afghan taken Early if you have any...it gives an uplifting high..

Do Not use anything that has been left to go over Amber..while great pain killer for me..it gives my hubby insane paranoia.

Personal Recommendation...?..get him to lay off the cannabis for a week...let his wife know....and if he still has the symptoms...it is Not the canna to blame..and she might feel more Comfortable to let him continue using it.

Bless your Heart for trying to Help him.

Alkaloids is a vast range of drugs creating different psychological effects on humans. What specific drugs are you referring to? You must just remember that I have not practiced in the last couple of years. I am in procurement at present. But have personal experience with cancer (girlfriend breast cancer).

Afraid I don’t agree with you there Mossy. At all.

The dick would be the one who took advice off a forum without checking.

I’m sorry but a pharmacist is not a doctor either! Are you trained in psychiatric treatment? Nope.

I’d rather look like a dick than someone get harmed. Ooh what a total dick eh?

Nice vibes, cheers !! (That’s sarcasm)
