Can overdrying result in non-sticky bud?

For sure it will take the stickiness away. Maybe some will come back but I don't think you can bring back all that was lost. Like the flavors. That's why most weed sucks because they lost the moisture some ppl even rehydrate to add it back or to add weight but it will never cure the same or be as good as it could have been. But then you have the flip side too much humidity if the jar never gets burped it molds and then the bud is completely worthless so its better you overdried it. I've had it happen where it was great in my vape so I left it alone for months to cure and opened it up and ruined.

Recently I dried as fast as possible in 35% humidity and I still just have the plant upside down in my basement just picking off it’s dry skeleton and it’s bone dry. It is also sticky as hell though and I’ve walked by it multiple times and had to change my shirt from nug chunks sticking all over it, and after crunching it up for the bong my fingers do the classic stick together glue pull. So I would say over drying won’t stop weed from being sticky, and maybe that instance was genetics

I've overdried a few times in mid winter with an RH around 35%. The bud was crispy and brittle. The buds lost 90% of their stickiness, and broke down to almost powder. Beforehand they were very sticky Sweet Tooth strains. It was impossible to recover the terps and stickiness. This last run my RH dropped to 42% in the tent for 24 hours while drying my Root Beer Float, but I luckily caught it before the plant moisture dropped below 60. She's still stick to the wall sticky, and the terps remained unharmed. But because my normal process was interrupted, my OCD meter was throttling..

Appreciate the replies. I harvested one plant last Sunday and it’s still got a while left to dry. 60% RH, 68 temp. Best I can do. I hung the entire plant instead of branches and think that helps a lot. I think I’m going to go from trim to grove bags. Might try a sweat step. Is that pre or post trim? Thanks again!

I have done a trim after drying and then put the Buds into two paper bags and then into a plastic bag when I have high humidity. I change the paper bags out every day at first and then every two days as they are absorbing humidity from the buds. The paper bags can be dried out in the oven or even fully pre-dried before use.

Did you know Grove bags are for After you have dried/cured down to your target rh ? 58 - 62%

Cheers
