Can I hook up a dimmer to my HLG 100 V2 LED?

So I just bought this light so that I could get some early veg going in a really short tent. But I mistakenly assumed that it would have a dimmer function like my 260XL -- and now I'm worried about scorching them a bit. Anyone know if I can use some sort of dimmer controller between the outlet and the lamp?

Nope.. It's non dimmable. If they allowed you to dim down the 100w model, no one would buy their 65w model, lol. If you're in an average size tent scorching them, or light issues in general, aren't a concern.

Bummer. I actually bought the 65W at first and swapped it out before it was sent.

I've only got about 20 inches between light and 2-day old seedlings. Think I'm ok from that distance at this age?

What's the full dimensions of the space?

When I was in my 2x2x4 with this light, I used zip ties instead of those long hanger wires.. I got almost a foot of space back.. I just zip tied em to the top poles.. I got it as close to the top as I could get it and let the plants grow up to the light. Otherwise, you're right, you won't have much space between the light and plants as they grow

Yeah good call - I'll try that. I only need to keep them in there for about 3 weeks, then I can put them in big flower tent. Mostly just worried about hitting them with too much light too early.

If it's truly too much, you can use a piece of shade cloth from the nursery until they harden off

Cool thanks. I think you sent me that video link to one of Dr. Bugbee's lectures? That was really great - I got a little hooked and ended up watching several of his videos. Thanks for the recommendation. I'm actually a little less worried about how much light they can handle now. Obviously there's a point of diminishing return...and you got work about light bleach. But he seems to suggest that the plant can handle pretty much whatever you throw at them.
