So I've recently decided to go indoors with the autos due to poor results outdoors a few years in a row (probably my fault, but I'll give it another shot when the outdoor season comes around). I have a short stuff auto pink grapefruit as well as an auto seeds auto chemdog about 20 days old in 1 gallon pots just hanging out in my veg area right now. I'm sure pics and updates of those will get thrown in here and there, but I'll try to keep this focused on the sweet seeds devil cream! I had a 5 pack of sweet seeds devil cream that came with 2 extra seeds, one never sprouted , the next was grown indoors and was stressed too much right from the beginning, and the third was grown outdoors and was amazing smoke...but it was very small due to conditions right when it went outside. So this is an attempt (with 4 devil cream seeds) at what this auto should be able to do, i never have issue with photoperiods so I'm really going to pay attention to these autos and if not anything else , at least figure out why I suck with autos.

Hey Shugers welcome to AFN. Good luck with the grow man hope this one goes well for you. I'm a big fan of Sweet Seeds especially their red family strains... I've grown all of those ones now. If you want to see a completed DC grow check the link in my signature.

If you need any help with this grow just post your questions here, I'll keep an eye out.

I was just about to throw up a pic with an update but it's lights out as on 4 mins ago. There isn't much to see except 4 devil cream babies just poking up , so today is day one! They are under a 4 foot 4 bulb t5 with only veg spectrum. I think I'll be moving them very soon to a tent with my new led that just came in the mail today. The light is a ProMAXgrow 600. They have full spectrum with low draw for the output and no heat is the claim. They say 125watts at the plug and compares easily to a 600watt hps. I'm excited for this grow on many accounts now. Let's see what this light can do and how I can do with these devil cream .
So besides the lights other details are:
Soil- promix hp
Container-4 gallon square pots
Nutes- Green house powder feeding , and some undecided additives in bloom.

All questions or advice very welcome!!

Hey bro, hate to be the bearer of bad news but that ProMaxGrow light / company is a complete scam. I hadn't herd of them until seeing your post but when I saw the "125w easily compares to 600w HPS" I immediately knew they weren't legit. I've exclusively grown with LED's and have done probably hundreds of hours of research over the last few years and I can tell you that even the best / most efficient LED out of the market today (Cree CXB3590) isn't as good as that statement.

Just looking at the light's details on their website was a big red flag, the specs they give on the Max600 are:
  • NASA-STUDY
  • 12 Plants grow area
  • Flower/Grow stages same LED
  • 384 LED Diodes 120V/60HZ/104VA/.87AMPS
  • 125 watts = 1000 watt HID comparison
  • Designed by Electrical Engineers
Firstly, the 125 watts = 1000 watt HID is a ridiculous claim. Also they don't say what brand diodes they use, just a bunch of BS about how advanced they are but no specifics. If you see a company using terms like "NASA Developed" just look elsewhere.

Also here's the pic of the 600,
600under.jpg

If you count the LEDs there's actually 576 (32 per row) not the "384 LED Diodes" their spec says... These are basically just the cheap SMD strip lights and at around 0.2w per LED this will probably not even equal the performance of a 96W T5HO fixture.

I don't mean to sound harsh man but if you're dropping $1200 on a light you need to do a bit of research first.... a quick scan through google would of revealed that there's not a single documented grow on any of the canna forms, just a few threads warning people to stay away. I really hope you can get your money back bro cause I can guarantee you this light is not going to give you anywhere near the performance you're looking for.

I really like that you're looking out for me @Hansbricks :) I was very weary myself but so far I'm impressed with them, I've had one for just over a week in my photo tent, swapped it for a Mars hydro reflector that pulls 380w at the wall and in less than a day I saw a difference in the plants. It puts out a bigger footprint and seems to be growing faster than the mars was(granted I had some temp swings and that mars is cheap and shouldn't even be compared to a 1200 dollar light, only time will tell). I now have another hung in a veg tent that will be my auto tent soon. I only got 2 pro max 600's which are 125w draw=600hps, they have 250w model that they compare to a 1000w, also I paid nothing close to retail on my units. There website is set up horribly and that's a shame, they really should tidy it up and get their own info on their site correct! I saw the lights at a convention over a year ago , so I took my time before buying and was sick of no info so I grabbed a couple . I hope I can prove you wrong because I don't think I'll be getting my money back nor will I try unless the light truly fails on it's promise.

@Hansbricks I just counted LEDs in my light and it's on point, 64 LEDs per strip and 6 strips, the website is shit. I will complain heavily about that to the global sales rep I'm in contact with. I have given him hell on every front(example one hood has off white wire coverings the other had black, that's not something I want to see when they retail for 1200 and I ordered 2 of the SAME light) they are for sure slipping in many places and I draw all the attention I can to it, as to there product, that's still in testing and I'll give my honest report on it.
