Lighting California Light Works Solar Storm 440w Grow Journal

Personally, I would back them off a bit! It will induce stretch, which is what you need, before you throw flowering nutes on em. about a week after you use flowering nutes, that will be about as tall as they will get. About day 35-40 is when you will need flowering nutes. Great setup and healthy looking ladies, Meef!

That's what I wanted to do, honestly. I was hoping to induce stretch early so I can ponytail and LST to make an even canopy.

Ahh i see what your going for. Typically i let them be closer and then bend the main stock down and tie it to my smart pot. At that point my side branches are already rather thick and my main stock becomes more s shape. Letting the dense side branches fill out my canopy.
Happy growing

Sorry for hijacking your thread, I appreciate the advice.
You could always try both methods. It would be a good control study . You've got it set up perfectly to try and see how each way works for you =p you'll figure out what works for you. For me when i keep the plants bushy they stand on their own . Whereas if they stretch too much i would need to support the branches because in flower the colas will get heavy and make the branches fall over. Do you have a grow journal? Ill sub on and offer input as i can for you

All,

Sorry for the delay in my follow-up. My first harvest with this light is in. Excellent results as far as I'm concerned. Considering that my grow tent was packed (actually too much) I'm extremely impressed with the light penetration and coverage. Attached are pictures of the harvested plant, as well as a shot of my set-up. Total dry weight 3oz. Nice dense nuggets. I feel like I realized the potential of what was stated by Barney's for this strain. The strain is Tangeloi Rapido.

I have a pure auto Sativa going as well. I'm not sure on the strain. It was a freebie that was not clear in it's labeling. I believe it Auto Lemon Haze. It is about 90 days into the grow. I'll probably go another week to ten days on that. The buds are fattening up nicely. So, it seems this light can handle Sativa's as well.

Overall the Solar Storm 440w is an excellent light that is made quite well. If you have the funds, you won't go wrong with this light in my opinion.

Peace and Cheers,

JAS

Excellent grow . I feel the same with my California lightworks as well. Are you gonna buy them?

Yes, definitely! For the money, the quality of the light is excellent. I had good luck with the American made Advanced XTE light too. However, I think the CLW are a better value and meets my needs perfectly.
Good shit man. I have 5 of their lights. It would take alot to make me consider switching to another brand. CLW customer service is 2nd to none in my book. I had a diode out so they sent me a new light with a return label . Problem solved

You're right. That's what you call outstanding service! When and IF you have a problem they are right there to back you up with fast Outstanding customer service. No screwing around waiting for "processing" or return calls. People can quibble about anything. However, for the money and performance, you can't beat these lights. Finally, they are constantly trying to make the light even better. So, if you want to sell your old ones, there is a strong market for used CLW lights. Many companies make good lights. However, in my view, it's the concern for the customer and the viability of the company that some stand out more than others....Too much thinking, I gotta go medicate with my primo medicine I grew using this light......Peace
