I got in some new RioCoco and this stuff is not like previous coco that I’ve used. This has chunks, shreds throughout to aid in better air to the roots. For anyone that use to add perlite or hydroton to their coco you won’t have to here. You can get this in blocks, 1/2/3/5 gallon bags and they have coco coir plugs and seed starter blocks.

Ok as most of you know I’ve had a rough time with my health last year and went through two foot surgeries and a revision surgery on my hand. I thought everything was behind me. I took a short break away from growing as I wasn’t in the best place of mind. Then it hit me that I need to have my friends back and get in the groove to grow again. I tried to start again but had some failures. I think I’m on the right track but I’m hitting another speed bump. So I’m laying it out here. For the past month I thought my foot from the last surgery was just nerve pain and would finally go away. It got to the point I was unable to walk like before. I went to my Dr. and we did X-rays to find the bones that aren’t supposed to be fused together magically are a solid bone again after they were cut apart. I’m waiting on my insurance to approve the CT scan so we can go to the next part. I’m possibly having another surgery to split the bones and have them reconstructed in the right place but have them pinned/screwed together. I’m kinda holding off till I know what my final outcome is going to be. But I’m hoping that I’ll be able to start all this in the next few weeks. Then have my family taking care of the grow while I recoup.

Ok I’m back and trying to get things started with genetics from @Jean-O before I’m having surgery. I have these soaking in the little cups and prepping some coco starter plugs now for when they crack open.

Took a look today and seeds have started cracking and tails making their way out. I have the coco plugs ready and will transfer them this afternoon. Then to prep the RioCoco block so I can fill the autopots.

Well just over the 24hr soaking seeds they were split and just starting to show tails. I transferred these now to the RioCoco starter plugs that I had soaked in a light nutrient solution with some calmag the night before. They are all sitting in a seed tray on heat mat till they pop up. I was going to move plugs to the larger coco rectangular starter the original starter coco plug fit into but I’m going to be pressed for time as my surgery is coming up. So these will be placed in the RioCoco block that I’m prepping to fill the autopots that these first plugs will go direct into the pots.

Well I wasn’t off to a good start again. So just before surgery I started to germ another set. I have other half watching them to see if they sprout. Wish me luck while I’m recovering from surgery.

Good Luck. Did the first ones not sprout after they cracked?
