Hey y'all. Ive always been wanting to run a "large" scale grow-op. Instead of growing in 1m2, i'm trying to figure out how i would go about building and smellproofing an approx. 9m2 growroom. I dont have a car, but i do have a garage which i'm currently using for storage but i dont really need that much space. My garage shares a wall with my neighbors garage, which means it has to be 101% smellproof!
This weekend i'm gonna start isolating the garage so i dont have to worry about frost...

The way ive been thinking is i build a "room" within the garage alongside the wall which is as far away as possible from my neighbors. 4 Simple walls and a ceiling piece, just a very simple construction, almost like a box. After ive built the module, i wrap a layer of plastic around it... Completely sealing the "box". I do need quite a few air intakes, not sure how many... But can't really go too wrong there! My biggest "concern" however is the smell, how many carbon filters would i need to kill those lovely odours i dont want my neighbors reacting to...? Anyone with any experience with matters like these, please help me out!

I'm gonna update my progress here, but its awhile before i can get to work... First i just need to do some research!

Any thoughts or insights are welcome!
Peace

My brother i think you must invest in a ozone generator machine inside the grow. Aslong as you got the place nicely isolated make sure you have powerfull carbon scrubs on exhaust/s

Rig your carbon filters so after they exit your grow room they blow across some Ona Gel.

Garages and neighbors can be a bitch if you have even the slightest failure anywhere.....

PS: ozone can kill you. Those generators are gradually being outlawed due to health concerns.

Im talking about ozone generators that can be installed in exhaust tubes. Its not dangerous check this

Oh yes, those are much better than the old grow room / tent units, but still in an enclosed space of the garage..... and already outlawed in CA if I remember right....

Oh. That i did not know. Im from Europe :)

I just looked at the English version of their site. It says it must be ducted to the outside and not let flow into any room / building.

That looks like a great unit if you run your duct work outside. Expensive though.....

Thanks for the great input guys, however i dont like the idea of using ozon generators though. The ona gel tip will definetly be used though.
I made a first rough draft this morning.

It would take up 10.65m2, but the effective growspace would only be 2m x 3m. This is to allow use of a co2 generator, and therefore i have to seal of the 2x3m area completely. Then id leave a little gap on 40cm before i build the second box.. And in the area inbetween i install, maybe 6? Carbon filters, silencer, fan, vent, ona gel setups. The walls would be made up off 1,2cm thick wooden panels, which i then cover in a layer of thick "construction" type plastic to ensure i dont have any leaks.
Id use 2400watt LED to effectively cover the space and 3 oscillating fans.

So... Any thoughts? I'm having a hard time seeing a construction that would be more effective than this type of setup. Remember, all the effort is too make it 100% smellproof, am i on to something?

Sure this type of op would cost over 6000 usd to build, and the 2400watt would be a nice addition to my electricity bills...but i feel that this isnt viable if you skimp out on costs.

Bro, my neighbours hate me lol, it was a problem I inherited when I moved in unfortunately, and I don't bother trying to win them over.

I also grow in a garage, my house is detached, but obviously smell is a serious worry, one sniff of herb and they'd not hesitate calling the cavalry...

But I invested in rhino pro carbon filters, from a stockist who also send free Ona gel with every purchase!

One 4" rhino filter and inline fan for my 120x120x200 absolutely keeps my garage smell free.

Hey!
Boy that is quite the project! Well worth it I am sure. Spend some time figuring out cubic meters of space, how many times you want to turn over that amount of air per unit of time. How to insure negative pressure in the room at all times (so no odor escapes), etc. Do you homework and ALL the math. That will give you a good idea of what you will need to do to get this working in a reasonably foolproof manner. Consult some HVAC references etc. This way you'll know what you need to invest in and what points of failure to plan for.
Unfortunately as long as it is not legal to grow our medicine we need to be very careful. Keep up the good work and keep us apprised of your progress.
