Photoperiod Bud's Shed - First Test Grow

Hahaha that bug is awesome looking!! Amazing how he died in a karate stance! ;) If you left a bit of bud broken up, I am guessing he over did eating buds, then did a very intense karate routine and died from a heart attack! Couldn't ask for a more honourable and enjoyable death. :D @epenguin @knocker powell you guys have an ideas? Harmful bug? Predator beneficial perhaps? Any opinions on cause of death?

I start feeding at day 10...seedlings are looking great!!

That's really funny @912GreenSkell ... I didn't spot the hidden martial arts routine!

Apparently, it's a 'shield bug' .. and it leaves a trail of shit everywhere. Not this one tho', his shitting days are over!

I have no idea how he died, or even how he got into the growroom, we need bug-identification software urgently, facial recognition, list of prior felonies, the whole monty..! .. I'm going to be on a losing battle with that one, a nice warm shed's like Las Vegas to a cold hungry bug, no doubt we'll see all manners of insect low-life joining the party over time.

I'll have to get jiggy with insect spotting, won't I? ... I'll soon be an expert, then I can change my name to 'Bug' Wiser ha ha :crying:

It is a shield bug, we get them my end pretty often through summer. There's a uk website that will identify it properly. I will have a quick look and see how much of a pest it will be, but will I imagine it lives on rotting matter.

Seedlings look good.

Ph in my area is 7.8 winter, 8.2 in the middle of summer, ( data from the waterboard has been pretty accurate) plagron light works well apparently with softer water, there is some info on it somewhere. Did initially use a few different types of soil but now use plagron light the whole way, especially after a massive fungus gnat invasion with garden centre soils.

Enjoy and good luck.

Yeah, northern, but purely because I love the wet miserable weather 350 days of the year.

Getting water to a good standard for the ladies took almost three years and a lot of pissing about but I am happy now.
I know shitloads of growers have problems, but quality water just makes the plants so much happier so it's worth experimenting with until you have a good system that meets your needs.

ro is the way to go for your water and mines not that bad (NW England) pain in the arse waiting to fill 40 ltrs at a time but when you read ppm zero always nice :smoking:

Very nearly gone RO many times, especially when I have been hauling water round the house, but now happy with quality. Do you go 50/50 RO, tap or 100% RO ?

100% ro only just bought it just doing my first bubble buckets with it (had several grows with dwc just not with ro water) think it cost me £170 imported from usa
