Hey yall, mnbuds here looking for some pointers / advice on crossing, selfing and breeding with autos. I've done some research and looked through different categories on afn but would like to just make sure I have a decent grasp on the topic. If you have any knowledge on the subject please dont hesitate to chime in!
First question : when you reverse a fem autoflower plant for pollen and self it, will there be any variation in the phenos of the seeds produced, or will all the s1's be the same pheno as the original plant that was used? Also if you take those same s1 seeds from The first cross and self them again to make s2's, will there be any change in pheno, characteristic's or stability of the cross?
Second question: If I have 2 plants of the same strain growing , let's say CDLC from mephisto. If I reverse cdlc [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] and collect the pollen. Then pollinate sister plant cdlc [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG], would the seeds produced be considered s1's? Also would this method have any affect on the variation of the phenos produced?
Third question: how exactly do you further develop a strain to make f2's, f3's and so on ? Do you just make an f1 cross , grow and select the plants carrying the traits you want and cross 2 or more f1's from the first batch to each other to make f2's?
Thank you in advance to anyone and everyone who can chip in with any advice !
Best regards yall
