Hi friends
i write this to share my breeding techniques. I know there are much different types of breeding techniques and i hope to see what other people do to get good strains.

p=photoperiod
a=auto
ff=fastflower

1) The first step is to make a plan in what way i want to breed and whats the goal.

2) I grow out some different strains to see if there is a interesting strain i want to work with.

3) if i found the right strain, i write down the family tree of the strain to see what genetics are inside.

4) Then i look for a second strain who compared to the other in taste high and structure.

5) i start with the first cross.
a x p = f1
theses f1 generation will be a fastflower photo strain with the best of both parents. They reduce the flower time around 2 weeks then the photo parent.

6) I do a multi grow to find the strongest plants. I call it survival of the fittest. I put 3 seeds in each pot in the same hole and let the strongest a live. Its a bit like natural selection. I only do it with the f1 generation.

7) The next step is.
f1 ff x f1 ff = f2
In the f2 generation i got around 75% fastflower and 25% autoflower seeds.

8) To get a full autoflower strain i use only the f2 auto seeds for the next generation. In this round i select carefully for the strain i want to have and i look in plan for the goals i have set. Sometimes i found a interesting pheno who didn't compare to the goal and i breed out a second line.
f2 a x f2 a = f3 (all seeds are autoflower )

9) Now its time to breed them to a stabil strain. Always selected for the strain i want to have.
f3 a x f3 a = f4 a

10) To have a true inbreed strain i mostly go to f5-f8 depend on the genetics.

I hope you all understand my english because it's not my mother language.

Happy breeding

Hey Tobe!

You have basically the right idea. Here's a link to an excellent book for beginning Cannabis breeders.

Hi pop22
thanks my friend, i go the same way like my grandfather in some steps and mix this with my own style. I know some people goes a other way and i would be happy if someone share his/her experience.

Have any of you guys tried using reversed pollen to create an auto? I'm going to try it myself....
Hi @iampepe
I only use regular seeds for a auto to photo project. You can get hermi plants if you only work with fem seeds. For a f1 generation cross you can do it but it isn't the best way.

I didn't know that. Does it become a dominant trait?

I have a batch of STS made, going to do this to my Ducksafoot. No one has a male, so they are kept alive by clones..... Seed will at least give us a reliable backup.

And recent studies concluded fem seed is no more likely to herm than any other. It is now thought that 90% of hermaphrodites are the results of stress triggering a survival response. Cannabis is amazing!

And fyi pure Sativa strains are the most susceptable to this

Hi pop22
yeas you are right if there is no male available its the only way to hold the strain alive.
To your duckfoot, there are reg seeds in a few breeders hand.
i own some powerkushautoducks they are regular and at generation f5.
