Auto-flowers strains are perfect for experimental plant breeding do to there short life cycle.

What is better than one plant breeder?
Two plant breeders working on the same goal.

What is better than two plant breeders working on the same goal?
A group plant breeders working on the same goal at the same time.

The progress that a group of plant breeders working on the same goal at the same time, could do in 1 years; would equal what one plant breeder could do in 9 years by him or her self.

This is one way I see a group breeding working is.
A members only privet group working on a simple goal like:

Flower Color
Plant structure
Fasciated leaves (Duckfoot)
Disease resistant
Higher yielding
Chemical content
And so on....

The members are given seeds to start with or they use their own seed stock or both. I would go with bout, the bigger the gene pool to choose from the better.

The goal is clearly outlined and each step is preplanned and agreed upon beforehand.

The member who has the best male makes seeds or shares the pollen with the other members or sends the pollen to the member who has the best female and that member makes seeds for the other members for the next breeding cycle.

Also their may be members that can only do one breeding cycle per year, and some members that can do three breeding cycle per year, and members that can do a winter time indoor grow to multiply the seed stock for the outdoor grows. This should be used to the groups advantage.

I've seen your post regarding this on UDG and I think it's hands down the best concept. This is something I'm trying to get into - whether it's testing a strain for a breeder and working a trait to get me started then send it back to the breeder, or do work within a group of breeders from the ground up. I think it's a brilliant co-operative idea.

This is much what Mossy has with her DMSC groundwork. It's just a matter of building it up, finding serious breeders and expanding the base and strains in work. Not only could multiple breeders help stabilize a strain - they can help create and stabilize multiple strains at once. I believe one of the things that sadly stops this is the desire for compensation from some breeders.

:slap: for a great post Zy.

I would love to see the finished product of several great breeders working together. Wonderful Idea.

Incredible. I have had similar thoughts the past month or so! I am in. :D

Yes you are right a group could stabilize strains, but a group could tackle (things) that are just out of reach of single plant breeder.

In the model I purpose is an open sores. Like open sores code :D

Members benefit form cooperating with each other, and if the group reaches it's breeding goal, each member would benefits in having the line or lines to work from. Each member is free to do what they see fit with the line or lines. (open sores)

I heard of a project like this once...:cough:

This is basicly what I am currently doing. I have a small place that I grow and I also have other people with larger grow rooms growing for me.
I make all the selections and decide what strains to work with and they do the growing in their locations. They keep any bud they grow,
remove seeds from the seeded buds and I keep the seeds from each run and re-distribute them as needed to my helpers.
With this method I am able to grow out a much wider selection then would be possible without help and we can work on more then one cross at a time.

Lmao! Zygote I know I'm pretty much spent in the head but I am positive I've pm'ed or posted a couple of times the SAME EXACT THING! I think its a brilliant idea... I've always dreamt of one strain to represent AFN and all of its members! Oh wait... That's what Mossy has done with her Dragons! The dragon line with all of Mossy's ground work and these new strains (crosses) from members is astounding! The Stone Dragon, the Frost Dragon, and such are really creating something special I feel... Who knows maybe a dragon may take a drift and become one that has been worked on and crossed by many members....
These are all such great and innovative ideas that I can't imagine what a GROUP working towards one goal can accomplish in say 5years time with autos and their quick cycles.... It's mind blowing!
 for posting such a great thread! Maybe this is where it's all going to start from... This post....
Peace and love

 you got some really great things brewing their Evol!

On thing we do not have is a board that makes breeding recommendation.
A board would is seated by people with PhD in Horticulture and related fields of sciences. They would make breeding recommendation baste on what is possible to breed and what is most needed.
