Hi guys, new to the forum! Will be here to stick around :) I probably should have taken more photos of her as she was growing up, but it's a mistake I now regret.

She was one of 6 seedlings to survive, and oddly enough she was the one that looked a little bit odd as a seedling...

I planted her around 05th November, with her siblings. And turned out a beauty so far. She is loving the great outdoors, but I've recently noticed that she's being attacked by what seems to be caterpillars. I found one in the act the other night but yet to find more.

The heatwave today in Australia means temps over 35°C, so I had the missus water her in the morning while I was at work. Checked up on her once I got home, and decided to pop her under the shade, while she was loving the sun I could see in her leaves that she was getting a bit too hot.

She is planted in some cheap $17 soil from Bunnings and hasn't needed any additional nutrients. I've started feeding her some Growrite to give her some energy and she has honestly been loving it. The only thing I have to say is that she's more scarred from insects, spider mites and birds more than she is from her bi-daily water feed and nutrients/foliage spray twice daily.

I'm going to be experimenting with indoor. But what do you guys think? Photos I took today you can see she's a bit angry i left her out in the sun for so long; any suggestions? I believe I see first signs of flowering, called the pistols?

FYI, for anyone who's curious.. these beans that I popped were bottom bag seeds from multiple quarters and half bags! She seems to be the most dominant one of them all. [emoji16]

Looks good , you are past the equinox in Australia now right? What is the daylength time.

Im not actually too sure! I can see some little pistols I think between the nodes.. so I think it's about to start flowering. This is my first grow so I'm actually so new to everything!

Can be preflowers. How much hours of daylight do you have currently . You can Google daylight time for your location. If more than 14 hrs of light. She would not start to fully flower yet.

Wrap that pot in something white. It'll help out on your root zone temps...
Is this because black attracts heat? Sounds like a good idea.. Thanks for the tip!

Yes, roots don't like heat, this is a pic from last year, just before she went into the ground, she's suffering from heat stroke, due to root temp.

do what you can to keep those roots cool!

Howdy @SeedsWeeds Your plant looks great . You will be right with the sun light hours . Shortest day is 21st of June . This will give you an idea the chart will help . With the bunnings soil you will run out of nutrients soon . I have had 41 c with a out door plant not long ago , It will help if you put into semi shade between 12 and 3 pm as that is the hottest part of the day , and I agree with @Arthur wrap the pot it will help and put wood chip on top of the soil as well . If you need to know anything about what type of nutrients we can get just let me know . We do have some top range products here in Australia . By the way -- welcome to AFN .:vibe:
