New Grower Blueberry Diesel Grow X2

Hi

Thanks for replying, i havent tried watering them with my pond water just yet, i may do at some point, bit scared to try i think!

I have grown this strain before and them fan leaves will get huge soon, that is one of the reasons really for doing two, to defoliate one at some point as my tent really does have room for one comfortably, it will keep them both in but they will overlap with the fans everywhere, the pics make them look bigger than what they are to be honest, when would you suggest i start?

Also do they still stretch whilst flowering.

Cheers Buddy
Well as far as letting light through goes, you don't actually have to defoliated at this point. But if you want to experiment they're old enough and all you can do is learn.

Learning is the key here, and that is what i am trying to do, but when i look at the two i can't decide which one to do it too, especially at the minute as they are quite small, but at some point i know one has to either be took out altogether or trimmed massively, i think it will be the latter.

If i trim where would i start and which ones do i pull first?

What I would do is look at whichever plant is the tallest and take two fan leaves off the main stem up near the top. You want big ones that may be covering up some bud sites below if possible. but if they're not covering anything that's okay cuz what you're trying to do is slow down that main growing stem allow your other side branches to catch up. At least that would be my goal right here since you're not actually having a problem with light getting through.

So what you can do is watch the plant for a few days after you take those leaves and see if the side branch is start to pick up a little bit. If you're getting some response then you keep working that mainstem every few days until you get most of the side branches level with the main kola.

Thanks.

I think i have decided which one to clip, i will post some pics tomorrow, the tallest one is rather dangly with bud sites, but the smaller one is quite compact and the bud sites are bigger and growing quicker.

When i look at them i am like i love you both, but one has to go!

I am looking forward to the first clip tomorrow and watching like you say, to see how it reacts, the other i am not going to touch.

I have one more seed of this, and i am going to get it ready and do it outdoors, my last one loved it when she was in the sun, but this is the UK and the weather is crap, so it is like a triple experiment rolled into one!

What is acid rain by the way.

Here are some recent pics of these two, i havent clipped any yet as they are not really overlapping, they are nowhere near as tall as my last one, but they are budding quite ok so far, i will leave it a little longer before clipping i think.
A picture of my little dog Cookie as well!!

Just checked on these and they are doing OK but i have little flies flying around them, i first noticed this a couple of days ago when i took them outside, i watched a few of the little bastards in the tent, now a few days on they are in the soil, what should i do?

Never had this before, i even spotted one stuck to a pistil, that is how small they are.

Should i chuck them out?

Sounds like root aphids, he gets Flyers around the tent and then they get down in the soil and start eating your roots. Actually they can get down into Coco too cuz I had them last fall.

A few things can help, letting your pot get good and dry between watering helps a lot. The aphids need some moisture in order to get down into soil and chew on your roots. You can also put a barrier on top of your medium some people use sand I like to use well washed clay Pebbles. A couple inches will keep them from getting into your soil.

I don't know what part of the world you're in, here in the states we can get a product called mosquito dunks or mosquito bits. Watering your plant with water that has had mosquito dunks or mosquito bits soaking in it is a good way to kill those buggers off. Beneficial nematodes can also help control them and maybe even finish them off along with letting your soil dry out of it between waterings.

In the UK some guys will do soil drenches with, I'm trying to think what the name of that bug repellent / insecticide was. It's actually on the Washington State approved list for use on cannabis intended for human consumption. I just can't remember what it was right now.

I've also used a product called Montgomery spinosad, I just mixed up concentrated Spina sod in my water and watered my plants with it that took care of my root aphid problem.

Oh yeah, yellow sticky traps to monitor how successful you're being at controlling them you just hang a few in your tent.

Chopped one and kept one of them, they were deep in the soil, i picked up some soil and loads flew out and walked all over the soil which was quite dry, so i watered them and they were still flying around, don't fancy smoking anything that has been pissing and shitting on my plants or whatever they do to them, i will just have a good clean up and start again gutted, i don't like the idea of treating and killing at the same time as i like to know what i am smoking and what i am putting on them, i have never had this problem before and i put it down to the cheap soil i bought, won't be buying it again, although my last plant did very well in it, but we live and learn.

But thanks fella for your guidance and help, i have one more seed of this strain left, i was going to do an outside experiment with it but didn't so i will start again with it, different soil etc.
