As to whether or not it's necessary the jury is still out. There's evidence to support it increases THC production and evidence to suggest it's not "that big of a difference". I have tried it before and the lamp I ran was too strong and I burnt my plants running it too long. Decided until I have a better handle on growing it was not worth the hassle. There are plenty of other ways to get better crops getting maximum control of your grow environment that do not do harm to your plants. At the end of the day the research that does support the use of UV states it's a reaction the plant has to being damaged you're basically sunburning your plant to get a certain reaction out of it "allegedly". I'm getting crazy trichs with my current run using no UV and Smo's Autocob's........
Thanks EM, I agree. I tell you what's absolutely crazy and it's not just on my lights but my amares as well is I raised the heights on Amare and the tricks are epic, same with the Autocobs being more spread out and not so overwhelming. I haven't seen resin production like my current and previous run in my life. I don't run UV on any of my grows and don't plan to either.

The DBC under the auto cobs that's budding looks like it's exploding with trichs from the inside out. All of the stems, the main one and all the ones to every fan leaf just full of trichs and spreading out to the flowering sites it's nuts. Very reminiscent of my beloved Blue MH, which I LOVE for this very reason.
