I transplant like normal. Autos transplant just fine, I've done hundreds. My transplants show measurable growth in hours from transplant. I've had plant grow an inch in width in 12 hours after a transplant. If by instapot method, do you mean where you cut out the bottom of a solo cup, etc and plant pot and all? I think that is an awful way to transplant, roots are forced out of the opening in the bottom, are are greatly restricted. 90% of what you may have heard about autos is myth. There are only a handful of other people on here that have abused autos more than I have lol!My very first indoor auto proved to me that autos are tough. I had a 24 day old White Widow and I broke the main stem at the third node. She was hanging by a few strands of bark. I stood her up tied her in place and staked her. She healed the wound in three days. Stalled for a bout ten. Now, I had two of them in a 20 gallon DWC tote. The un damaged plant got 32" tall and gave me 30 grams. The broken plant??? 43" tall and gave me 170 grams dry! I say a one time transplant may actually be good for them if done right, with the right timing.
