New Grower Black gold or Fox farm?

went with two 1.5 bags of black gold organic.. pots are all ready I'm gonna plant two seeds directly in and germinate two using paper towel method.

also one more question, since black gold organic is 0.5 0.0 0.0, when should I start using big bloom?

Thanks again!

Personally I used both FFOF and FFHF... Imo they are too hot and used along with hot nutes can cause problems if you don't take it easy... You can plant directly in either just keep in mind with soils that are sold with fertilizer mixed in you should wait until sex shows (or 3-4 weeks) for their first feed. Each time you water with plain water in the first stages of life you are "feeding" them as the nutes are released each time you water. Ocean forest is hotter than Happy Frog. Both are very expensive compared to other mediums...

Black Gold would be my choice but its totally your decision.

I have done a grow thread a few years ago comparing OF to HF... Also I have compared Great White Myco to Humboldt Nutrients Myco Madness... In my opinion GW os over priced and overrated. Myco Madness is just as good and half the cost. I did not see a difference in growth to make GW THE best. Just because something is expensive doesn't make it a superior product.

If you go the FfOF or HF route be careful not to over water and fry your seedlings. Best of luck friend!

Nice choice. Planting directly in the soil will get you better results... Mother nature does it that way... Just my two cents.

I have no experience with big bloom... Too hot for my taste. Trapper can chime in there...

I feed from the time I plant but I used promix hp-cc... With BG that low im assuming you can to. Someone can yay or nay me lol

First feeding ,Like I mentioned to a few ppl man..first feeding cut by around 50- or even 60% is better,of the original full dose for light feeding plants or seedlings.then full strength the following watering with whatever else your using and your off to the races man..no sweat.

Ya may wanna amend with a full cup or cup and a half (2 bags BG combined)of powdered dolomite lime to help with PH fluctuations and buffering effects man.here man, check this out.
this'll hook ya right up,its an excellent read.but thats a safe guard as a rule.but not necessary.
:Sharing One:Enjoy dude.

I gave my 2 autos Im growing right now in the same soil some fish at 2 weeks. Might want to get some veg nutes.

I would have gave them after a week since they had developed enough at that point, but I put in a 20-25% dose of Dr.Earths Organice 4-4-4 fert mixed into the soil. I know advice told me no. I just wanted to risk a small dose to get all those benaficials and mycroizzae stuff.

I made sure to water Un ph'd water the first week. So, this wouldn’t be a potential problem.

Basically Im saying you will want to feed veg until vertical growth has stopped. Then transition to bloom. Some people just do a straight switch.

Ive read a lot not to feed when the preflowers first show. Best way from what I read is wait for the vertical growth.

My 2 cents. Im no expert.

EDIT:
I would also like to agree with the 50% strength. Its what I did for my first feeding and I did not get any burn. Though just because I didnt doesnt mean you wont. Depending on your strain, 25-30% might be better at first. Can look into some journals of a strain your growing to see what someone else did. Generally Ive read that 50% is good.

hey im using both soils in my outdoor grow of white widow, check it the big one is ffof and the rest are all black gold, the black gold is easier to dial in the nutes for newbs and all alike. i like em both but the black gold is easy

I stayed between 1/4 and 1/2 strength on the nutes (Grow Big, Tiger Bloom, Beastie Bloomz & Cha-Ching) for the entire grow, the Big Bloom, CaMg and molasses/Agave...I went almost to full strength on because it was more maintenance based than fert/growth aid. My 2 cents. But starting at 1/4 concentration with anything on these autos is a must IMHO, unless the strain is a known fert hawg.

Took a pic right now of my Afghan Kush Ryder at 18 days above Black and Gold Organic Soil.

Though that Dr.Earths was added as a beneficials booster.

so, guys, after reading through this thread, i believe most of you using Black and Gold Organic soil, are saying that B&G is not that HOT, so, I can start my nutes early without burn?
I have 2 autos growing in B&G natural and organic soil, i started seeds in final pot, but added a layer of REG. soil on top for seed. now, 19 days later they doing good but leaves are dropping but no discoloring at all, so, im guessing its some kind of nute deficiency. anyway, after all that babbling, my question is can i start nutes (19 days into my grow) cause B&G is not that heavy on organic matter.
