Nutrients Biotabs in Soil-Autopots: Photos and Autos back to back!

Looking good mate [emoji106]

Got my eye on those photoperiods [emoji3]

Thank you dude and yeah, that Cheese x Black Jack combo sounds better and better each passing day, can't wait for them to be cooked .

DAY 14

It's time for transplanting the girls into the 15L Autopots :clapper:. I'll put some detailed instructions and pics of my Biotabs mix for soil (@Hippy_BiotabsF70 and @stoney T I'm looking at you two, you asked for it :smoking:) to showcase how easy it is and mostly a one-time job .

Really satisfied with the first 14 days for most of the plants - the nursery pots and 110W fluro lights are perfect it seems for these first 2 weeks, some of the girls got big and started showing a lot of roots, so I know that they won't have any transplant problems this time.

Concerning the mix, this is what I did - mixed Guanokalong soil (organic light mix) /perlite / worm castings in a ratio of 50/40/10 and got this:

The I reached for my Biotabs line up (coupled with 3 other products) - Startrex, Silicium Flash, Tabs, Mycotrex, Bactrex, Orgatrex + Guanokalong powder, Plagron Power Roots and dolomite lime - which looks like this:

I've added the products to the potting mix in these amounts (per 15L pot):
  • 75g of Startrex
  • 75g of Silicium Flash
  • 2-3g of Mycotrex (the new instructions say to put 5g just in the potting hole but I like to add some to the whole mix)
  • 40g of Guanokalong powder (per instructions you need to add 100g per 15 L of substrate but Guanokalong soil already has added powder, so I gave just 40% of the recommended dose accounting for the perlite and worm castings :2cents:)
  • 30-40g of dolomite lime (been adding 60g to coco, so I cut that in half seeing that the peat in the soil has micro elements)
This was done for both photos and autoflowers and the main difference between this and the coco mix is that I put a bigger amount of the ingredients in coco, seeing as the soil is already pre-fertilized and has enough micro elements and such. After adding the ingredients to the mix it looks something like this:

After 5 min of thorough mixing I start filling up the pots. Just to note - the 4 biggest girls (2 SAL + 2 GBOG, in hindsight it was probably a better idea to give the airdomes to the smallest girls?) got Airdomes in their pots - a first for me, you just connect the domes to their pipes and put one in the bottom of your pot before you start filling up:

Once the pot is half way full I put 2 Tabs in the pot, like this:

Fill up to the top, dig a planting hole for you seedling, add 4-5g of Mycotrex in to the hole:

The only thing left to do is fill that hole with a seedling and soak the pot with a mixture of (per liter of water):
  • 5mL of Orgatrex
  • 1g of Bactrex
  • my addition to that: 1mL of Plagron Power Roots (organic root stimulator)
Voila! Your Biotabs mix is ready to go, just add water for a month . To continue this potting pictures, gotta show one of the SAL's that got an airdome, really satisfied with the growth, a nice, healthy plant with great roots:

Gang shots of the autoflower soil girls:

Let's not forget about the 2 Sweet Cheese photos which were potted a day before and are on day 15 now - looking great :

You dig? :baked:

Great stuff ryker sorry I was missing up till now thought I hit the watch button

DAY 21

DEATH AND VIOLENCE :amazon:

Sorry for the drama, the girls were topped at this day :smoking:. Almost arrived late for that show, this was in the last moment for my liking. Girls are super healthy but I like to top at the 4th node (sometimes 3rd when I do it a bit earlier) and this time topping at the 4th node was brutal 'cause they had already some serious growth above that :yoinks:. To try something out, one of them was topped at the 5th node .

The girls that got beheaded were chosen because they were the biggest and healthiest girls of the whole autoflower bunch this grow and they already got airdomes in their pots due to that reason - which in hindsight was a slight mistake but more about that later. Those 4 were 2 Sour Alien Livers and 2 Glueberry OG's. Also, the 2 photoperiods in soil got topped too (day 22 for them).

Autoflower soil bunch:

SAL on the left, GBOG to the right (2 of the topped girls):

Funny leaves GBOG, I call her cabbage :smoking:, got topped too:

Another SAL that got topped:

The non-topped auto soil girls - from left to right: SAL, Think Different (around day 15?) and SAL - and not the forget the White Chem that's going to the bin

This is what I meant that topping at the 4th node this time was a little brutal :

The 4 girls after topping:

Sweet Cheese photop's on day 22 - looking great:

After topping:

Thank you for watching :smoker1:.

Nice mate. But ..... you evil b*stard! Hacking half your poor plant away! [emoji23]

Good job dude, I’m sure they will reward you with bountiful yields as always.

All looking really healthy mate. You noticed any difference between soil and coco yet?

Sweet Cheeses look awesome dude [emoji106][emoji271]

Dude, even I got worried at one moment, that's why the last one of the 4 got topped at the 5th node :crying:.

To be honest, not that much I would say. Seems to me that the seedlings in soil had lesser problems than in coco but that could be from my watering too - meaning that I'm better at watering soil than coco - and those problems weren't that big or crucial. However, gotta say that I ain't seeing that the coco girls are growing bigger or faster, so there is a chance that I will switch to soil after this, we'll see how the flowering works out :2cents:.

BUT, to be precise, I ain't growing clones as you know so you can take all those opinions and throw them in the trash .

Haha even the butcher got worried! [emoji23]

I am starting to think I’m crap at watering in coco. I think I over water in veg leading to poor root systems on some of my plants. Saying that, my poor root girl was in an Autopot so must be that I overwatered early on.

It will be very interesting to see how your grows compare as they progress mate. Very cool to see the comparison dude [emoji106]
