figured i'd let you in on my first ever DWC grow with one of Sweet Seeds Big Devil XL. Ive not made a diary out of it yet just because of scepticism i had about getting it right, however, judging by how i've done so far, ill carry this on!
I decided to start running the DWC alongside some regular soil grows.....temptation got the better of me!
Its in a 20L bucket with a regular blue airstone and pump and also has two maxijet 1000 pumps stuck to the side, angled just enough to be propelling loadssss of bubbles down through the roots.
The only downside of the DIY maxijet add-on is the daily need to ensure the pumps are at the right height up the sides of the bucket to make sure they aren't sat out of the water.
The plant itself is exactly 6 weeks old now and has been under a 600W HPS from the second week onwards after being under a T5 fluorescent. Its on a 20/4 light cycle and the temperature is around 28oC with the light on.
The pH is adjusted every other day to 5.8, only jumping up minimally.
Im using Advanced Nutrients Sensi Grow A+B (Bloom A+B when the time comes), CalMag and Liquid Silicon. I've worked the ppm up weekly from 200 in the first week to 800 currently.
I've LST'd a week ago which seems to have helped in spreading the canopy
