Big Buddha's guide to growing Autoflowering strains 2011
Hello readers, as the spring approaches, we thought we should give you a guide for a
decent successful harvest outdoors using our autoflowering strains.

Starting

Once seeds have germinated ,you have to decide whether to plant into a pre prepared planting hole
or in a container/pot. When growing in pots make sure to plant into the pot you were going to use to finish with,
i.e. a nice big container. Where as normally a soil grower will go through 3 sizes of pots (beginning , middle and end size pot)
with autoflowering strains, to start in the big pot is best...around 10 litres is a decent size.
When autoflowers grow, the root system likes to stretch out first before the flowers come on so,
when the roots hit the walls of a container, the plant stops growing and the roots will start growing around the pot
giving you a real small plant.
So if you use a small pot to start the roots circle round and thinks "is this all i got" as well as (auto)flowering!!!
Now, as I said, if you start in a good size pot say 10/11 litres the plant has enough soil space for roots to stretch out
giving you a decent sized plant :-)

Medium/Soil

The medium that autoflowering plants prefer needs to be very 'airy' adding extra 'perlite' to an already light soil mix
for the best results however, autoflowering strains can be grown using hydro medium, i.e. rockwool, coco, deep water culture...the key is to let as much air and space for the root system to get as big as possible!

Outdoors Tip

If you are planting into the ground its nessesary to make preparation of the ground again make the necessary amendments...pre preparing a planting hole of at least 10 litres will give the autoflowering plant a good advantage and start in its growth/life cycle.

Timing

Outdoors

We will plant outdoors dependent from where you are in the world but in most parts, in & around the beginning of springtime, around may/june where
the days are long and they will be ready normally end of july/august to harvest.

Indoors

A lot of questions we get regarding automatic strains is whats the best time cycle for this type of plant...hmmmm?
From our research, we leave our automatics on an 18/6 light cycle till around 3/4 of its lifecycle, then at around 6-7 weeks for the last few weeks we reduce the light, depending on your situation. If you have more than one room you can put into your flower 12/12 room or reduce the light down slightly. If you have only one room then shift to 14/10 simulating what usually happens from spring to summertime outdoors.

We hope our readers will find this guide helpfull and achieve a fantastic super fast autoflowering experience!

Just cracked a Big Budda Super Auto Sativa, SAS, and its got 2 (TWO!) tap roots. Got a photo on my fone which Ill be putting into my journal wen I start it. Which will be soon as they went into their pots last night. Wish I kept it out to see what would happen. Shame if its a mutunt as it was the I was looking forward too the most. Ive grown afew Big Buddah strains, the latest being the Cheilsel which didnt yield too much, but oh my days was it tastey. So flavourful to the point of too much going on in one strain. Not complaning tho. It was lush. Found it difficult to grow tho compared to others. Not a beginners strain,IMO. So anyone out there had 2 tap roots emerge from the seed. Is it a gonna or will it grow? Are there 2 plants cramped in there? Pls help. Dont want to lose it.

That is great basic info for simpletons like me. Too many of us try to make this thing more complicated than it has to be. Thanks for posting DIRT!

i dnt understand i was lead to believe that auto grew best under 24 hrs light although they will flower no matter what light schedule their under more light bigger buds am i ryt or have i got it all wrong some one give me a clue ???????????????

Redman: I have seen this one time, but it was regular seed "oasis" from dutch passion.. my friend was growing it, and it got quite big.. I don't have any photo of it and i really hate it that i never took a photo of it.. but my new auto seeds were put in root it plugs 5 days ago, and now i have TWO seedlings popping out of one of the plugs! Just like you and my friend did.. I took a photo now.. have a look..

Mister

That happens a lot, And has been posted a few times this year alone...

Usually when there are 2 tap roots it means that there will be twins and sometimes just a triploid...

Love it man:clap:
