My first BHD was a male :(. It was at least 30 inches in height though :)

Nice lookin male. Did ya collect any pollen from him?

Yeah i sure did :) I got a good amount of pollen also. When I can get a female I will to the deed with her lol. Man I can't get a female for nothing :( I went through a lot of seeds from attitude and they keep being males:( But i put the pollen in a zip-lock and put in the fridge. In the vegie compartment. Because it doesn't get that much moister in there. Just cold enough so the pollen stays crispy.

That's good, but add a few pieces of dehydrated rice to collect any moisture that may get in. I double seal mine and got some AK-47 pollen to last almost 1 year.

How are you germinating the seeds? One way to help make a female seed is to germ them at a constant 75 degrees. Heating pad and a thermostat. After that, keep your temps down and no stress. Are you transplanting to?

Hey that's a good idea. Very much noted. Wow man that's long time that the pollen stayed fresh. I had no idea it could stay good that long. Well I do germ in couple methods. Some in the paper towel and i put in a dark dresser that stays the same temp. I say it maybe around 75 or 80 in there. Sometimes if they don't pop in 24 hours I'll through them in the pot that they do all there growing in. I never transplant. It either goes from paper towel to pot once they pop. Or I just throw them directly in dirt. I never thought of using a heating pad. That's a good tip. How long is your average germ take place?

Usually within 3 to 5 days there up and by the 6th or 7th day their in their home pots growing like crazy...Stick a thermometer in the draw during the heat of the day, and see what your running on the high end.
On the pollen. I bought a collage size refrigerator and put it in my grow room. I keep the temps at 45 degrees and the humidity is around 50 %. It keeps my seeds and the pollen fresh as hell. Yeah, I read in several books that 2 months was about it on keeping pollen. Guess they never tried it my way. I also think that the double packing helps out a lot to.

I'll have to double it up for sure then :) I need to create me a note book for all this useful information. Thank you this helps out alot. What period do you think from germination to the first signs of showing sex (male or female) is the most important for it not to change to a male or herm? Cause I had one herm on me and it was a total freak of nature man.

No problem man.

Usually around 15 to 22 days sex will show. I say the 15 days, cause that's when you should really start looking for signs...Definatly by day 22, they should be sexed..

So the critical time is the first 22 days. After that, it would take some major stress to herm unless it's in the genes. Then you don't want that strain anyway :))

Ok good to know. I have my set up in my closet and in mid day when the suns kicking it gets hot. But when I have both my lights running 24 hours a day it stays warm. But a fan blowing in there cools it down some.
