In the past I have been kept awake by fan noise from my grow cab in my bedroom. so much so I had to use ear plugs to sleep at night.
I ended up building a box and filling it with hollow fiber around my fan (the suff you get in pillow and duvets). It made a great differnece.
I also added a fan speed controller as the fan was more powerful than I needed, so buying a larger fan and running it at half speed is somethig to think about.
Silencers will also help by reducing the wooshing sound produce by air exiting your fan.
Now I have switched to all LED lighting my fan speed is even lower and everything is now very stealthy.

good advice here m8; the best thing I ever did for sound suppression was building a speed controller, just be careful some fans are not compatible with the cheaper ones that use a dimmer switch (they create a high pitch whine noise). I built mine using a variac (variable transformer) I bought off ebay for the same price as a cheaper manufactured dimmer type.
also, using LED's will mean much less heat to dump hence lower fan speed required - just do some research as the fans on some LED's can give off noise too.
