I have some sprouted beans about 2 days old and have a 400w hps . Simple question should I run my 400w 24/0 or 20/4? They do need a lil darkness right? I kno both can be used I'd jus like to hear everyone's opinion. Please share!:peace:

I find that mine have done better starting from the very first until they sex to have them on 24 hours of T5 lights, or whatever lights you have. And after mine sex around 2-3 weeks I put them in the tent with the bigger light on 18/6 or 20/4. They definitely need to sleep at some point, especially when flowering. You will get varying opinions on all of this though and will just have to try different ones out and see what you like and what works best for your particular setup and way of growing. Good luck, bro. :D

I just grew a few plants out with a T5 running 24 hours a day, start to finish. Not saying that its the best way, just saying that it is possible. If i was running a HID lamp, i would definitely give them some dark time. Good luck on your grow.

some breeders specify their light requirements, others don't....with that in mind, and not having a big issue with climate control ...I have tried a grow under a small t8 start to finish under 12/12,
a 400 hps grow 20/4 and 18/6 ,and a t5ho grow 24/0.
the best resin production and denser bud formation was a Mossys medical strain under 400hps 20/4 , also these were the fastest to show sex at 19 days old.
the t5ho grow produced well under 24/0,but bud density and light penetration to the lower buds was lacking....
supplementing with cfl lighting also helps some for side lighting ,but heat quickly becomes an issue without proper ventilation. I prefer temps under 80f lights on .
of course all this is just my own personal experience, and may not apply to your grow set-up or strain variety.
