Looking to grow about 6 autos. Advice as to what kinda power is needed and what lights are actually good cos not many of the main brands used by US growers available in UK

Are cheaper lights on Amazon similar or will the difference in quality be noticeable? Anyone know any good makes available in the UK?

Thanks

Firstly with cheap lights ignore the wattage they say and look at the actual wattage. I just picked up a Phlizon 2000w COB but it's actual wattage is 451 from the wall. This is enough wattage for me, certainly more than my previous groes, including my first grow which was a 600w HP's.. check out the videos on YouTube, some great examples, there r some duff reviews out there but mainly from those who don't really understand, but 451w for £229 of Amazon you can't complain, equivalent mars hydro would be a lot more. Vipar is another brand but for the price I like what I see what the Phlizon. There is a guy running both atm and the Phlizon out performs the viper

Hope this helps, if you have Amazon prime you can buy with confidence if anything goes wrong they will sort you out, even after a 1 year warranty, but you have to speak to the customer service via email or online chat, not many know this and buy an item and something goes wrong and on there account it says return period over... Amazon will always sort you out, they just don't go very public with it lol

Just know that that 2000w is more like a 600-800 HPS. So song long as you understand the actual wattage your won't be disappointed. I got mine this week about to start a grow very shortly and readying my tent at the moment

I was going to get a QB but will do that later on, my budget made that I had to cut back more than I anticipated, but going by some good reviews and speaking with people who use the light I am excited to see results.

This light uses the same cobs as the Optic 4 LED which cost more and draws less wattage than the Phlizon, so see results for Optic 4 and your get the idea.. the Phlizon will easily cover a 1.2 x 1.2 x 2.0 tent.

Both negative reviews where left buy people who believed they were getting a true 2000w light, so that's the manufacturers fault, but guess they feel they have to do it to compete, but one of the guys who uses the light is now being sponsored, and apparently they are looking to change how they advertise the light, if they stop that bullshit marketing then they could be onto something .

I'm definitely going LED once my HPS packs in again, which won't be long. I only have a small tent, 80x80x160cm & currently only have a 250w HPS. What would be the max I could pack in there?

I have the same size tent. IMO I would forget the amazon lights and go for 2 quantum boards 288 either v1 Samsung top bin diodes or v2 260W off the wall. GLH driver. 3000k or 3500k. There is a guy from U.K. sells them on eBay. Do your research. Plenty of threads on this forum. Price £265-£300.
Good luck

Cheers for the reply, I'll give that a look at that. Hard to find a UK source with references from actual people. Price is a little higher than expected, but I suppose you have to pay for quality gear. I'll get the piggy bank started :)

Nothing wrong with the Amazon lights plus if you buy with prime and anything goes wrong Amazon will sort you out. The reason people don't trust Amazon lights is because lots of this Chinese companies lie about wattage but those that understand won't be disappointed. My £229 Phlizon is doing just fine, not once has it felt like it's over heating, the coverage is great, spectrum spot on, and it's not like all these parts people use in other types of lights don't come from the same country, parts are not from UK or states etc half the time, just built in the UK/US/EU.

Not criticism of you when I say this but "People need to be less snobby" guarantee if I buy a light from Amazon (Which I have) and I am not happy in two months times with my end results I know Amazon will full refund me no questions asked, other companies wouldn't do that.

My Phlizon is out performing my previous light which was Telos 008 from GN.
