Hey all,

Gonna update this post soon but I'm looking to update my setup. Currently i grow in a closet with two 150 watt hps, closet is covered in nylon. I'm thinking about getting an additional grow space, a small portable tent, and was looking to upgrade to LEDS for this space. At the moment the planned space is the following...
Hydroplanet™ 36x36x72 Mylar Hydroponic Grow Tent for Indoor Plant Growing (36x36x72) Amazon product ASIN B019J3FPQWI'm thinking about doing two smaller leds or something similar to a Grow Northern HS1, or really any good led with good value. Budget maxing out at 500ish, prefer to spend a few hundred.
Any suggestions on tents and lighting would be super! Thank you so much.

I currently have a 3x3x72 tent and I regret not going a little larger. I have three plants in there and they are crowded out. So, if you have the room, try to go at least 5x5, just a suggestion. Putting money into your lights would be good too, cobs are all the rave here in AFN. Im sure more knowlegable people will chime in, this is the place to come for advise. I'm excited for you and your first grow.

Thank you! I'm actually on my second grow in the closet right now, first grow was 3 Barney's Farm Pineapple Express Auto's and two Seedsman freebies White Widow Auto, with each plant yielding about 2 ounces. https://www.autoflower.org/threads/mephisto-genetics-grow-multiple-strains-questions.58112/

Greetings you silly wittle wrabbit. I concur with @Big Sur Holy. Get as big a tent that you can accommodate.
Then follow the force and trust the cob. A simple inexpensive AutoCob will replace that hps and then be prepared
as the addiction kicks in and you want more white cob light. I know as I suffer from this addiction and I continue
to accumulate more cob light. Plenty of "yoda's" here on AFN. Use the AFN Force.

Everybody is preaching the gospel on this. Get a bigger tent if you think you will EVER want to expand your grow. Not to mention the ability to get in with them and work.
COBS COBS COBS COBS... Don't walk run immediately to your favorite flavor of cob lamps. I am still just coming to grips with how good these lights are. If you want to start out simply try and get a 3500K spectrum as they will veg adequately an flower heavily.

I have reached the point where I am aquiring cobs in order to tailor the light to the phase of growth. I have a 5700 and 2-5K Citizens and they well be sedt up in solo packages so that I can mmove them to the plants in veg at the time.

You can get a good tent and 3 or 4 COB lights for the budget you are working with.

Does anyone know a good site for cobs that obv ship ???

I've been thinking about getting a new light ... was original thinking mars 160 epistar and running that with my Apollo 6 in my 3/3 tent .... but than I seen Amare 250 and now these cobs .... descions , descions lol

Feel the force @IceWater421 it is calling. Without all that spectrum crap which I leave to the experts,
I go with cost and productivity. After looking at several "cob" grow pics you can clearly see that this
is where grow lighting is going. This is a tech business now. We all know how fast technology moves.
Probably no one still uses the original iPhone. Lighting is going the same way. Show me a better way than
the cob and bye bye cob. Pull the trigger. Build or buy? Me, I bought some AutoCobs but I could have built.
And just maybe I will to satisfy my "cob" addiction.

I'm thinking buy but if it's a huge difference in price between build and buy I got a guy that grows to that's good at putting stuff together if I get in over my head lol ... from what I have seen it doesn't look to to complicated . I have lots of reading to do ... but ya I like idea of white light and not this eye straining red/blue purpleness .
