Busting my journal cherry for afn.Well I started this grow just over two weeks ago.I had planed on starting this journal then but
the usb cord for my camera decided it didn't want to work.soooo I had to wait until I could order one.Iv done that but it's taking
forever to get here so I bugged my son to let me use his laptop. Now be warned.this grow and likely the next will be quite ghetto.Money is extremely tight I had a choice of waiting until I could afford to buy everything I wanted to make it a perfect grow Or i could just grow me some shit and piece together my final set up while still getting me some meds.I chose get some meds now!!!!Besides iv been chomping at the bit for over a year now.for those of you that read my introduction youl understand the reluctance.
I'm growing pyramids white widow. She's 16 days old today. The soil is a Hodge podge of shit I had laying around the house consisting
of scott's top soil and some peat mix from a planter of annuals I was given last year as a gift.It took me an hour of slowly sifting through the
mix pulling out all the tiny yellow time release capsuals. To this I added abit of extra perlite about 20% worm castings, half a cup of powdered egg shells and two dried and powdered banana peals. Then I added my nutrient.......wait for it......wait....that's
right im using a crf. Dynamite to be exact.Trust me iv done the research took the time and I feel quite comfortable using it.I had considered
using OC+ but there are some issues with OC+ dumping in higher temps and I expect my temps to hit the mid 80's.Now I know inevitably somone will say..But...but...but you cant flush!!!!
And I will say your right!!!Im an anti flush kinda guy.I believe flushing is used only to correct a problem that probably could have been avoided in the first place.dont get me wrong
I have had to flush but it was avoidable. Now as for flushing for harvest...well I dont do it.I really dont believe starving my plant in the critical final two weeks of life will improve my harvest.
now having said all that im as nervous as a school girl trapped in a prison.just like everyone else I have had it beat into my head for years that time release just isnt done!!! but due to some great reading from a fine grower named doc bud I decided it was perfect for my present circumstance's. Atm I am using a single 125 watt CFL was suposed to be a 6400k bulb but I Oopsed the order and got a 2700K instead.I have another 125 watter in the mail now and should be to the house early next week.So ill be growing under 250 watts total power.1 6400K and 1 2700K
I decided to stick to one plant at a time and do the best to get as much as possible from it.I figure one good plant beats two or three kinda ok plants.I may pull a little lest bud from one than I would from three but I think I can realize more of each plants potential concentrating on one at a time using a limited light source like CFL's until i get back under a good HPS bulb.
Now for some good news.My cousins daughter got married last week. I have a full storage shed down there with some really nice furniture and a whole house's worth of crap im likely never to get back down to get.So I told him to take her to the unit and she could take anything she wanted.he called me back a day later asking me what I was going to do with the "other" stuff in there.it turns out that when I got busted the cops took all the equipment being used. tents lights pumps...but didn't take any of my back up equipment I had out in the shed.I had assumed it was all gone, and had never thought to ask.My cousin was the one that packed my house for me while I was locked up he never metioned it and as time went on he forgot, and I never knew.Soo it turns out I have 2 600 watt HPS 1 400 watt HPS a 6'' Dayton blower and the best thing out of all of it is a control bucket including pumps for a multiflow system!!!!!:dance:iv got to get a price on shipping but safe to say ill be sending for it sometime in the next couple months.Im sure ill have to replace the rubber seals and possibly the pumps but as long as the float valves work and the timer ill be in like flyn! anyway without further rambling here is my girl.Ill be keeping this thread open as my ongoing journal. So thanks for stopping bye and reading this terra bad wall of text! oh and srry for these crappy pics they will get better!
