BC’s first KIS

It's nice to return to AFN, after a hiatus, and find people using and interested in KIS soils! It's great to see that you're having success with them. I use KIS and BuildASoil's kits about interchangeably but I do prefer Tad's nutrient pack. BuildASoil has a tremendous topdress kit for flower, though! I noticed that you only added 1/3 of a pack to your original soil build.. did you build a batch with the (correct) full pack for a 30 gallon batch, for this run? I've always used Tad's soil recipe exactly as the KIS page (here) recommends and had terrific results but I do add 10% biochar to mimic their bagged soil. What size pots are you using? I like the biggest pots I can use I'm anbout to go from 10g to 15g) and I'm hoping to switch to beds one of these days. So far, I've not had any nutrient deficiencies with KIS soil as long as I kept the microbial levels high and don't let my pots "dry" out. I try to maintain a constant level of moisture around 85-95mbar. One thing that I've noticed is that the compost and EWC I use makes a HUGE difference from run to run. My last run I used some compost from SymSoil along with their fungally inoculated biochar and EWC from a place that I found in Texas that sells fungally dominant EWC. That mix was simply amazing! I'm about to send some in for testing and, when I get the results back, I'll post them here in the organics section. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing what this round brings for you - I'll bet it's going to be even better than the last one!

Welcome back! So far, the KIS pack is working well for me. This second round mix amount was half the bag of KIS into 20 gallons Promix HP with some additional shells, kelp, and langbeinite, and 30 lb of EWC.
These plants are all autos, and this round , a few showed N Tox. early (no peat plug, direct seed) , and a few fried and were pulled.
Going forward, I’ll definitely use the same proportions, but make solo cup size plugs.
I’m sure the ideal quantity of soil would be at least 7 gallons, but not doable in my set up, so 3-5 gallons, depending on the cultivar, and bloom teas for medium to large gals. Just try to get to the finish line with minimal inputs/ effort.

A little update on the main tent. Clockwise from left is Toof Decay, and fully hit (unintentionally) Anvil, Orange Bubblegum, and two in a pot hermi seed CDLC x SS x Yeti CBD . TD and OBG are about 60 days and the others less.
This reminds me to grow Toof Decay more often.
The Livers Bx cut down today. Big N tox, leading to leafy buds and less swell. I’ll run her again with less rich soil.

:bighug: BC, what's up girlfriend? :pimp:

The tent looks well stocked! Is that the rare green pheno' Anvil I see there? No surprise she's the bully on the block in there- That's an "ideal" Anvil, nice chunky buds, full body but not a space hoggin' lummox like most!

... can't see the OBBG well, how's she forming up BC?
... TD is a good'un,one of the first 'Phisto's I tried-... digging in the bean-bin the other day I found some long archived Sour Livers and SkyWalker ... SL is an interesting cross, unique aroma and now that Liver's is out I can pick up notes of it in SL's interesting funk...
Give your Liv's a nice long cure after sampling,... mine took a good month before she showed any real improvement in aroma and potency, but it came alright!
Yours looks a lot like mine did in her bones, and nose cone shaped buds... aroma was muted but nice, what do you smell?

How's the rest of the 'testing" going my friend? :dizzy: :haha: .... Fiddy enjoyed the Green Poison auto!

Another day in locked down paradise @Waira :bighug:Good thing I’ve got a hobby:weed:.
Definitely planning to give Livers a long cure. Wanna give her every opportunity to shine, but not thrilled with the spice cabinet/ herb aromas. Quite different than the crosses I’ve grown.
OBBG is a nice plant, with very similar phenos from all I’ve seen. Very main dominant with burly satellite colas and pretty strong citrus aroma. I fear she is partially seeded, so maybe extraction/hash/press in her future.
Wading through Fiddy’s gifts..:dizzy:Some great flower right there. The Berry Pie IS Berry, but can not rival MoB in aroma. Her high is very relaxing, functional, with voracious munchies. She will get finished by my son, who is far less calorie conscious, with a super fast metabolism or a tape worm.
This TD is a brute. If she fills well, it will be a heavy yield for a 3gallon, and fill the coffers. This is the bigger, longer running pheno, so 85 days minimum.
Good eyes!!! Got the rare Anvil green pheno that is definitely fully seeded by the missed Galaxy Brain male. Kind of a strange pairing, but I’ll let her finish, and give friends the seeds to throw out back. Not many pistols unreceded, so little to no flower formation/trichs.
I was planning to send Fiddy more genetics, but which ones? Suggestions?

Thanks @Stylez2 ! The WItch Doctor is only a temp resident. She outgrew (shoulda topped her) the breeding tent and will reside there until reversed Anvil is ready. So much for a care free few weeks before the photoperiod run.
@Couch_Lock, yeah, lanky for sure. WD was above the lights in the breeding cab and stretched big time, hence the supercrop. Always something .
