Hi Folks - i'm a relatively inexperienced grower so i apologise if these questions have been asked a million times, i have an indoor grow going on of Barneys Blue Cheese but I've noticed pistils already, wasn't expecting them for another fortnight or so.

Equipment
Viparspectra 450w LED
Secret Jardin DS60 (60cm x 60cm x 150cm) grow tent
Top mounted extraction
No fans inside as temp' is consistently 22°C while lights are running
12L bucket

Nutrients
Biogrow, Biobloom and Topmix
Growing medium is Allmix

I germinated by immersing my seeds in boiled and cooled tap water for 24 hrs, then planted the seeds into these buckets. I noted sprouts had came through 2 days later.

Two days ago i trimmed off the very first two serrated leaves to appear, these looked a little unhealthy and i figured they weren't doing much for the plant.

I'm 27 days into this grow, pistils are showing and the plant measures approx 27cm tall by 36cm wide.

Questions!
If this was your grow, would you be happy with progress so far?
Would you have expected the pistils to begin to show already?
I still have the lighting schedule on 18/6, now that the pistils are showing, is this the time to go to a 12/12?
Should i now be switching nutrients to Biobloom & topmix?
Will a fan really make any difference inside?
Do you think i could have used a bigger bucket? There'sno chance of transplanting now, i'll risk breaking the roots but worth knowing.

Thank you so much for reading so far, I've attached a few photo's of the setup & plant for you perusal.

Assuming this is an auto, keep it at 18/6 as it will not require a 12/12 cycle. So you have no fan inside your tent? Do you have a system that is bringing in fresh aor and expelling the air inside tent? Ventilation is a must for an indoor grow

There are two vents at the bottom of the tent, with the extraction at the top I was assuming the fresh air gets drawn through the vents, past the plant and out the top, taking the hot air from the light with it.

I always thought even autos needed a 12/12, is that not the case?

a lil breeze inside the tent is a good thing.£10 argos
id be delighted :eyebrows: my first 4 grows was shit :coffee2:
its not strange for a few hairs to pop day 21.unlike photoperiods the veg/bloom stages not an off/on switch, autos live for 75 ish days.
autos are autos keep er lit at 18/6
feeding schedules on autos dont exist, its personal preference/reading the plant.some feed bloom as soon as hairs show, others wont give bloom till vertical growth stops.....swings and roundabouts i guess.
this is +/- a ml and +/- a week here and there roughly what i do
schedule walter day 75 - Copy (3).JPG

you in allmix apparently it has a couple of weeks more food than the light mix.your plants looking fine
id be tempted to whang a few more holes in the bucket ala

Thanks for the confidence boost! I keep thinking she’s pretty small but I forget she’s only 4 weeks ish old.

I had no idea there was a difference in terms of lighting schedules between photoperiods and auto’s. I’ll keep her at 18/6 then, at least that means I can get the next wee one sprouting in a few weeks as a follow up grow.

As far as nutrients go, I’ll keep her on Biogrow for another week or two, I have the room for more growth so I might as well encourage her to grow a while longer.

About training, is 4 weeks too late to begin LST?

Fans blowing across the tops of plants can help strengthen stems etc.

18/6 minimum light schedule. 12/12 which is for photoperiod plants, will mostly debilitate an auto grow. When I was using mass built led lights, I ran them around the clock, full spectrum from the beginning.

much of a muchness 18/6,20/4,24/0 and my fav 19/5 just to be odd :eyebrows:
never too late to lst
:pighug:

Sorted then, I’ll stay with the 18/6 and I’ll put some thought into LST, I would go for 19/5 but I’m an even number kinda guy.

I hate the thought of hurting the plant after so much work has gone into the cultivation, so the LST will be very gentle indeed.

I’ll put up a photo later for you to judge my LST skills (or lack of) and you can advise me of my shite abilities and how to improve

I was nervous about doing this, but i can see how the canopy will even out over time. only one tie down to bend the main stem for now, maybe more as time goes on and i can judge the plants reaction to this new arrangement

awaiting your judgement!

I would try to bend the main stem more and more every day, gently.. once buds appear the stems become hard and will snap. Good luck
