Im using ecolite 1%charge coco70/30 perlite and I keep the ph between 5.8-6.2 you want to keep it in that range in my opinion when using cocohopefully the two that i just put in will grow a bit better ive put humidity domes over all three of them now i turned the fan off and
i'll use non ph water , i get about pH8 we have really really soft water where i am but i dont know 8 sounds high.
it not that crispy i had 600 further away but much more heat ad it for and swapped it for a 400 is 25"-30" still too close for a 400w hps, is it cos i have such a simple light with no fan attached to it? ive got a fan blowing on them and when i put my hand on the soil its not hot at all it actually feels cold.Is it crispy if so it could be light burn...

ok thanks il leave the humidity dome and keep the the ph at 6 and keep the watering to two shot glasses a dayThink that's the issue your having is the ph levels and over watering.... I would lay off the watering and ph your water and only water when need and not over do it. Remember less is more
The wet spot (that sounds funny) should be 2" diameter if you watered directly. She us definitely watered. Dont water again until the medium is dry at least 1/2" down around the peri
i thought a lot about this over night and think u were spot on i raised the light by a lot thanxIs it crispy if so it could be light burn...
