I like to hang dry for a couple days to get the dampness out, then shorten the branches to a manageable length ... after 2-3 days I start using the bags for atmosphere control ... not needed if the air in your drying space is already 60% rh or higher ... a trustworthy hygrometer is a must have ...
Its funny i bought a bunch of black cheapies a few years ago off of ebay and they were all working great compared to a $30 hygrometer. Then this year i buy a bunch more and the calibration is all wrong. Before i would have said the chepies worked fine, but now i dont have much faith in them. Sorry i cant remember what brand my good one is.
