Grow Mediums Autopot Copper disk, up, down, in tray, in pot...Im confused!!!! :-)

Are the RCD's reusable or do they need to be replaced each grow.

I have used the same ones for 2 grows now. The 2nd grow there was not much copper left on the disk...but had no issues. Some folks use landscape fabric, so I dont think it much matters. I will reuse them until they are falling apart, ha ha. (But then again, I never had MASSIVE roots that I had to worry about)

Ok time to bring this thread back to life... lol so bottom line is it doesn't matter which way the gold disk it facing as long as it's in the pot.? What about the pot socks then.? Or how about putting the gold disk in the pot face up and then the pot sock on the pot...? Crazy how they conflict the instructions on these copper disk isnt it.?

IMHO, it makes sweet bugger all difference. Roots will prune in either direction just fine. Don't worry about it.

I don't think the copper disc do anything. The copper only last about a grow. I've used the same disc for 10 grows.

Hi!! Yes, I had been just reusing the same one also I just got the new Spring Pot XL cloth bag set up and no longer have to even worry about one.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, are all of you WITH the copper disc located OUTSIDE of the US? I bought my 4 pot XL setup last 4/20 and I didn't get any copper discs, just the pot socks. I have also seen threads where others located in the US didn't get them. Just curious is all.

Did you get the fabric xl pots or the plastic? I got the discs with my 4pot plastic system and with the extra plastic pots I ordered. Would imagine with fabric pots just a disk at the bottom would allow roots to still go sideways and breach the fabric while a sock would go up the sides a bit preventing roots getting into the valve.
