DIY Automated system suggestion

I would go with Growpito Sim Mix and Mega Crop. Growpito has an incredible water holding capacity compared to anything else with a higher air capacity than coco. I switched from coco two years ago and I've never went back. The Sim mix is reusable. Using the same mix from two years ago perpetually.

Autopots are an excellent suggestion as soon irrigation is the most efficient way to water plants and will conserve more water/nutrients in conjunction with Growpito than other mediums.

Mega crop is a simple 1 or 2 part nutrient that in conjuction withthe Growpito only requires an EC or ppm of 500 the entire grow for success.

Now technically Zamaldelica x Kali China isn't a limited edition anymore but it was lol. Welcome to the Grow My cloning efforts have been less than satisfactory and I was behind due to life issues so this grow is late. Going to be running Zamaldelica x Kali China again with 12 clones...
This sounds very interesting and these are some damn beautiful plants. But I searched and it does not seem available where I live... Were you growing in coco with autopots before? How did you manage salt buildup? What about ph? I actually have some MegaCrop which I was curious about but it did not managed to dial in a soil grow so I went back to coco where I get great results. I would love to get this results in autopots without having to be bound to tend the plants several times a day:

I was originally doing DTW in coco watering 5 times a day but I was introduced to this medium and I switched to flood and drain. I water every 3 days to to 30% of the pot height with a 5.5 - 6.2 pH and a .5 - 1.0 EC not including my tap. I didn't have salt issues in coco but I ran coco properly, no salt issues in this medium so long as I don't let it completely dry out.

I've never grown in autopots with this medium but I do flood and drain with no real issues off a 55g resevoir with no waste water.

Welcome to the Growpito Blog! Here we will provide announcements, literature, events, and various how-to's for our incredible Sim Mix.

Hello Everyone! i am growing in some old soil, about 1.5-2yrs old that i keep reusing. I am now feeding with MecaCrop, calmag, and a pk booster.
I leave town frequently for a few nights and have a bucket setup with a pump and dripper hose that I can turn on remotely.
I have currently 3 plants with each plant having a 1gallon/hour dripper on them, so if I run my pump for 30 minutes, each pot gets about 1/2 gallon of a gallon of water.

I have to mix the nutes into the water bucket (2.5 gallon capacity) in advance and I had been struggling with the PH staying the same. I have now isolated the biggest factor in my PH creeping up - which is the calmag.

How long are you out of town for?
I can send you a pm with links to the items on amazon that I use. that would be wifi switch, pump, also remote temperature and humidity meter. I control my entire tent with the wifi switches, was really easy to setup

well, here are links to amazon, i hope this doesnt violate forum rules, sorry if it does.

https://rb.gy/nn3pv5 - wifi plugs
https://rb.gy/6pygez - temp and rh monitor (needs a power cable)

you will need some other misc supplies, do you have home improvement / hardware store around? that would make it easy picking up some tubing and plumbing bits
Wow thanks for the resources! I thought about getting these wifi plugs for a while now, maybe its time to jump on it. This time I will be away for 3 weeks so its definitely not doable, but normally I go for 2 weeks max, and really I am just thinking about this for going away during thw weekends. How noisy are the pumps? By the way do you think that setting these wifi plugs to run 1.5 weeks after I am gone and then turn it off remotely to let the plant dry on the pot could work?

thanks for the info! What about using AN ph perfect with this medium? Is it a good idea? I really like the convenience of not having to ph (well, possibly because in the past I did it with a shitty pen, but still)

It would not be an issue, organics can be used in the medium as well like biotabs. I use mega crop, fulvic, humic, granulated molasses, kelp and some other stuff in mine.

How many plants do you have, 1?
if you put water in a 5 gallon bucket, and your plant takes about 3/4 of a gallon daily (all just assumptions) then you should be good for almost 7 days. You would drench her before you leave and then only water on day 2 of you being away. basically run it for 5 minutes daily or whatever your output is. you can also get a bigger bucket/reservoir depending what you got available.

the wifi plugs are great, i use them for all sorts of stuff related to my grow and totally unrelated

the pump i linked seems pretty tough. I accidentally let it run dry for 24hrs straight and it still worked. many others would burn out if they dont have water to push through. another nice thing is that its a) submersible (so you drop it in a bucket) or b) you can run a feeder line to it.

careful with AN PH'd nutes. depending on where you start with your water, they are not really truly buffered. I ran into trouble with them taking their ph claim for granted, and then had my ph way off and the plants suffered because they couldnt use any use that i gave them.

Here’s my thoughts on ph it’s so damn important and takes under a minute to check and adjust. And once u find out what it takes it’s even faster. Well worth the minute. I use tnb naturals up haven’t needed down except to prepare the growpito. U soak at 5.5 to set ph then transplant or seed and water through from top at 5.6-6.3 I use 5.8-6.2 sometimes I’ll let 5.7 slide for res addition. What’s nice with autopots is there’s no guessing game there’s no pumps to go bad no air stones to get clogged water in the res once a week u crack the valve at the end of the system to make sure water is flowing good. If there’s a clog to one of thenpots you’ll know quick but keep your stuff clean use some slf100 or something similiar and you’ll be happier then a pig in shit. I’ve been doing this a long time researching what to go to for my final system and this is what I’ve wound up in. I’ll be using this same system and growpito for many many years no more money invested on that end.

I have 3 but only one is gonna take longer. For future grow I plan on doing only 2, one pure cbd another pure thc

Thanks, I will investigate this option further.

Really? Interesting, I have never had a ph problem with them, only calmag which was solved after increasing the base nutrients. Actually, I did have ph problems. It was when I added calmag. Apparently that messes up the ph, so I contacted them and they told me to just increase the base nutrients and it worked, plants looked great after. So what other nutrients are there that require no ph'ing?

yeah maybe I am so biased against it because I had a bad pen. It was very tiring measuring ph, add ph down, wait for ph to stabilize, figure out you added too much, add ph up, wait for it to stabilize, etc. It was just taking too much time for me, especially because it would drift to the next watering, so here we go again, measure, adjust, measure, adjust...
Happier than a pig in shit :crying: and do you recycle the growpito?
