Experience: None, first grow
Setting/location: Outdoor grow, UK latitude 51.6
Strains: 1 Sweet Seeds Green Poison Auto, 1 Dutch Passion AutoFrisian Dew
Germination date:

[Updating as I go on - Pictures coming as soon as there's something to see]

Day -1 - 26/04/13 - Seeds arrived, put 1 of each seed into a cup of water to germinate. I put a bed heater under a bed, and the seeds on the bed heater. I plan to put them into soil in 36 or 48 hours. Fingers crossed they both germ! (12 hours later) Both seeds have sunk, approx. 20-25C (24 hours later) Both seeds are cracking and taproot is edging its way out. The water has some dirt at the bottom which I hope isn't going to effect anything. What a relief to see the taproot though :D
Day 0 - 28/04/13 - (48 hours after first contact with water) The taproots were about 1-2mm long, I put them in their cups with domes (bottles) to keep the moisture locked in. When they sprout I'll have to move them to a much colder window sill to get some light :) Pictures are coming SOON when theres something to see :D

Sweet choice mate I'm looking forward to seeing the auto Frisian dew for the first time, and very interested to see how it does here in the uk,and our temprimental conditions :smokebuds:

The weathers been shit again hasnt it old chap !!!
Not enough people doing outdoor uk grows on here - its very possible to do with stuff you can buy in most diy stores or even rural petrol stations or farmers marts !

Looking foreward to watching these grow - best of luck innit !

Yeah is definitely been a cold start to the year, last few days have been great though, in London at least. I'm pretty optimistic though, I hope it's not a letdown :D

Hey DANK, welcome to the DP section and I wish you the best on your upcoming grows! Can't wait to see the Frisian in Action!!!

Seems like its going fine so far, just have 1 or 2 doubts in my mind though. Both seeds sunk (at 12 hours) and they are just starting to crack (@ 24) .

I wasn't sure about the temperature, its warm(ish) to touch, I asked in the shoutbox about that and it seems ok though.

I'm slightly concerned about some dirt in the water though. The cups are under a bed and moving them in and out has caused some dust to fall in, which has settled at the bottom. Its not much, but I got a bit para about it last night  I used tapwater so bacteria shouldn't last long, what do people think though? Thanks -Dan K

I think Danko.........mother nature over the millions of years she has been running these strains in one genetic form or another. She can handle a little bacterial media........in her germination cup,.........imagine how much flora lives in soil she has to fend off !!..........dont worry,....you got tap root 95% shure they will be fine.........FD is a very hardy outdoor selected plant. For the "Northern latitudes" bro.........

They say, to ensure good survival from slimy predators...........you should insert the 6' seeding into a 14' 100mm diameter soil pip section full of compo. Then around the top put 40mm wide 'Copper Sticky backed" tape to prevent snail and slug attack. Anything air born will only take a small part of the leaf and fly of pissed.......Then insert the pipe 10' into the 'Gorrila Spot".........the roots exit the pipe 10' below soil and should flourish well.........just what ive picked up from the outdoor guy's etc Danko....................hope this helps with ideas of pest control !!...........AB...........Frisian Dew can pack it on at the right latitudes though..
..................DP FD...View attachment 213888 Good luck with weather Danks for the rest of the season...

Didn't see your post :bong:

Seeds have gone into soil cups now, so the dust and fluff in the water must have been fine, tapwater has antibacterial chems like Cl2 anyway :) Probably to your surprise it's not actually a guerrilla grow, they're going into pots in a city garden :D I've got a spot which is pretty out of view though, and have good neighbors. 2 shortish auto's shouldnt be too much of an issue (I hope).

I've got some slug repellant granules, which I'll put in a circle around the plant. I've heard about the copper tape method, but don't have any around :D If slugs get to it i'll just buy some :D I've also got a wire mesh+net cylinder thing that should keep mammals/birds out. It should be ok xD

Thanks for the help and the luck :D I think I'll need it

What sort of time should I expect to see them sprout? The taproots were about 2-3mm when I soiled them 24 hours ago
