autoflowering male question

I only saved one LR#2 male out of a batch of seeds and he is producing no visible crystal. does a male have to be "visibly potent" to produce quality offspring?

most likely a good enough father coming from lr2 stock. i think the crystals forming on the male show later in budding so the pollen has been dropping for a while at that point. id go for it. good luck!
